synopsychic | (no subject)

This is an open invitation to all who share the Magician Arcana.

While it is unlikely that our patroness (which contrary to all etymological logic is a word, thank you) is participating directly in the next round, I feel like coordinating who we are and what we are attempting to do is more important for those of us predisposed to the first Arcana than most others, lest we step on each others' toes in a rush.

With that said, I have no particular agenda in mind at this time, but I would appreciate it if you were to contact me on this network - privately, if so desired, as I have the skills needed to cover both halves of a conversation - or in my Room, which has sections where I can guarantee privacy.

All of us Travelers are on the same team, as far as I'm concerned, so others please don't take this as some sort of conspiracy. I'm merely trying to get one of the sub-teams in order while I have the opportunity, and making an attempt to respect peoples' desire for privacy even though I'm not really sure what the point is at this juncture.

May I ask, though...are you of the software persuasion like Magician's avatar? Your mental syntax is a bit unusual, even for someone new to it.

Really? That's very interesting! Ahaha, I can't deny I often prefer the company of books, myself, but computers are a bit more versatile, aren't they?

And trust me, if I have faith in any of my skills, it's my ability to brew and serve tea to guests.

Armin! Good to see you. I told you I'd try to organize something in this regard, although I'm not entirely sure an open network invitation counts as organizing.

I'm not much for machines or computers in general, but you had me at "flying mechanical lion" anyway. My door is always open.

I appreciate the effort in attempting to coordinate our movements. There has been a great lack of cohesion among the Travelers. I suggest we should all meet together and pool our resources, though I am... currently not entirely myself.

I'd rather imagine the point of privacy is to guard against some of our less discreet fellow travelers, or those actively working against one another.

[Armin takes an involuntary step back when he's greeted by a Goat butler - he'd only met one before as an infiltrator, but at the time it was doing its best to break down his shield and kill him. However, that's the only sign he gives of unease or uncertainty.]

It's certainly not a bad thing to do. Although I'd thought you'd meant more of a group meeting than a series of one-on-one conversations.

[In all honesty she's just happy they intimidate someone. Individually they're pretty much useless as enforcers against anyone stronger than a normal human, which is most of Liminal Space.]

That would have been more practical, but we're running out of time before the next Jaunt, and it's nearly impossible to organize something with more than two or three people around here without everything splintering off into individual conversations even with lots of time to plan it. Mostly I'm hoping to convince the people who don't know each other we can operate on a relatively trustworthy playing field, inherent paranoia of Liminal Space and the Network aside.

I believe most of the latter have settled at the level of passive-aggression and sniping, at least, given recent revelations about the floor. But I suppose I can't blame people for wanting to keep secrets in the minds of those they trust.

Does that make you one of the first Arcana's chosen, then?

Not quite, no. I've opted to ensure my comfort in this form should I need it in the future. I will likely be able to return to my normal form with little effort.

I see, then. I'd be interested in seeing the form you currently have, although if it's not able to drink tea or play chess I'm afraid I have little in the way of suitable hospitality.

Mmm. [And really, it probably makes sense to Beato, if she knows this gentleman was also the clever, awkward boy from that competition of S-tech so long ago now.] She seems one of the more sensible ones of the lot.

"Sensible", by a human definition, probably doesn't apply to any of them. I respect her practicality, though, if that's what you mean.

If I cannot manage, I can always turn back.

I'd have to disagree - they're not completely unknowable, certainly, not any more than a human in a position of authority with rather more knowledge than those around them. But she also does seem quite practical which is ... helpful, here.

I'd categorize them as I would Witches from my world, really. Human-like in some respects, but of a different nature that doesn't quite understand us in our entirety, nor can we theirs, and each one settled into a well-worn and highly specific point of view by virtue of their semi-eternal existence.

Witches are created by human suffering, though. The Arcana simply Are, and they're unique in that respect, as far as I'm aware.
