I swear I don't usually make a kidnapping habit.

And as unpleasant as the experience was, I know I'm not entirely without sympathy for her position.

[Especially after the death of some of the guards.

Not that she regrets being uncooperative herself, or planning to aid in the rescue. She may not be entirely without sympathy, but she is entirely without the desire to end up as someone's lab experiment, or to let anyone else suffer that fate.]

She was... frightened. She was dealing with something she didn't really understand. And the main thing she learned was danger..

That's a reasonable takeaway. We weren't as...restrained as we could have been.

I expect we'll have trouble if we ever visit that world again.

We will. Area 54 was already changing their focus from aliens to the extradimensional threat. She didn't want more people killed.

That's...understandable, though I hope they have enough empathy to not start shooting first and asking questions later. The most dangerous point in contact is the one where one side hasn't yet decided whether or not to actually see the other side as people.

I suspect they will, sadly, use a bit more force than before after losing people. But they want the wanderers alive. They know they can't find out much from a dead body.

That's something, at least. Alive, their captives might be able to escape.

[Though there's unease there, even with the muting effect of the Network. The living can escape, yes, but the living can also be subjected to torture.]
