That world wasn't my Purgatory or my Hell, which is probably why I'm not freaking out about being a fallen angel at the end. They certainly aren't my angels or my God. First rule of Travelling, right?

But that also means I... don't know enough about what everyone here has faith in. Or not. Or why.

And it's uh, private, I know, for a lot of people. It is for me. So these can be... locked down or in person discussions, if you want. But I feel like it's worth knowing.

Sara's laugh is bitter.

"Good," she says. "It is, and it should be." Blasphemous, and a capital crime.

She uncurls her fists, just a little.

"I just needed to make sure you took that seriously and - and you do, you absolutely do, I'm sorry I doubted that."

"The expression of desire is a sacred act in Terre d'Ange," he says, softly. "What else could you call the twisting and distortion of that but blasphemy?" He's quiet for a long moment. "You really thought I did not take these matters seriously?" he asks, finally, and his voice is near expressionless.

"You? I never doubted," Sara says. Very seriously, Sara looks him in the eyes. "I'm sorry for even implying you wouldn't."

"I didn't know it was a blasphemy. I didn't know your world took it so seriously."

Something strung tight in him eases a little. "I am sorry," he murmurs. "It wouldn't be the first time... but it is not my world that takes it so seriously. It is Terre d'Ange. My country. Other countries..." He shrugs.
