Er.. you mean you don't experience those usually during combat?

[ Because Inigo's totally done that before, okay. He might not be magical girl material whatsoever, but critical hits in Fire Emblem apparently just needed something to spice them up.. ]

[There's an awkward pause.]

It's usually my belt that says that stuff. And I'm saying some attack names I've never used before on top of that.

[ Okay, look, Inigo can get the whole shouting out for attacks thing, but there's something in that statement that seems weird to him in turn. And not even just a little bit - he blinks, completely confused. ]

Your belt speaks?! [ A lot of weird things are possible in his world, but this is not one of them. ]

Not to the point it thinks or holds a conversation.

[He knows this is weird, if this is any consolation.]

It just...announces things when I do stuff. Not much. Just transforming, certain attacks...

Well, that is still.. quite.. er. [ He's trying to think of how he puts this in a way that's not too rude, but he's not that good at being diplomatic unless he tries really hard.. ]

It's quite unlike anything found in my world, I suppose. My belt is quiet no matter what I do, actually.

Trust me, I know it's really weird. It's a weird belt anyway even by my world's standards, so it all works out.

[ At least it's not on Inigo - this time, anyway - then that he's finding it weird.. phew. ]

If I may ask-- how did you gain possession of such a thing if it's uncommon in your world as well?

I'm...kind of not sure. A lot of us started having stuff happen--we'd get random items appearing, or random powers or memories, all of it popping up out of nowhere.

Random powers appearing out of nowhere seems a little worrisome though.

[ Usually there's a reason for something like that, after all.. and that reason might not always be good. Inigo's learned to be a little more cautious after all the terrible stuff that happened in his own world. ]

Perhaps you should be careful with them. In case something might be wrong with all of it.

It was, but I think we all got the hang of it. Mostly.

Turns out we were being primed to save Earth from an alien invasion. My Earth...has weird defenses.

[That is his kinda-sorta understanding of the situation, anyway.]

Doesn't make it any less strange.
