Time to Get to Work?

[Riddick happens to be pretty damn good at psychic network projections. So when he sends this out, when the screaming starts, there's sound to go with it. No visual, because he's not that mean, but he'll offer it if anybody wants it. So his thought-voice, which sounds a whole lot like his speaking voice except maybe slightly less gravelly, is punctuated by screams, groans, and the occasional screech of brakes and crash of metal.]

So I guess this is what we're here for. There's some crazy cannibal people out here in the streets tryin' to eat other people. Or somethin'. I got head-pictures, if anybody wants 'em. I guess if you wanna fight, feel free to get out here and fight.

If you don't, better stay inside and lock the doors. This don't look like it's gonna be a lot of fun for folks who ain't interested in a little head-bashing.

[His last word is accompanied by the sound of something both wet and crunchy. Maybe it's actually a head-bashing. Who knows?]

[He can do fire. Lots of it. Regent of the Sun and all that.]

It is rather unfortunate, but I haven't had the chance to meet any officers, in the hotel or otherwise.

It's a tactic we've had to use on hostile zombies back home; I wasn't sure whether it would be effective here as well, but it seems to be.

[There is the crack of a gun as Raidou shoots a zombie that was getting a little too close to Gdon, followed by another pause as he briefly takes cover in an alleyway to collect his thoughts.]

...I know restoring order is important in a crisis, but I'm not so sure about these officers.

You mentioned revival. Are they deceased? [Though he guesses they would be if they are being set aflame.] As for the officers, certainly they cannot be all ineffective...[an uncertain pause]...can they?

Reanimated corpses. The ones I've seen back home have retained at least some of their minds, although it's possible that they're anomalies. [Just like the rest of our world, he thinks.] If these people aren't deceased, then they are so close as to not make any difference.

[There's another pause, and the faint sound of something like a scythe hitting home. Raidou seems to give a mental sigh, and his "voice" sounds slightly weary.]

...It's not the officers' competence that concerns me.

They most certainly...smell as if their time has come. [ Or passed. He attempts to locate Raidou by the simple expedient of looking out a window in his hotel room. The gunshots seem terribly close, their echoes reverberating with the telepathic transmission.] Not their competence? I do not think I quite follow you, sir...

I suppose I'm wondering what happens after they restore order. [Assuming they can restore order. Raidou suspects it could go either way at this point.]

I know you can probably take care of yourself perfectly well, but - are you somewhere safe?

[It's probably an irrational worry on his part, but he feels the need to ask anyway.]

I am at the hotel. I daresay you should place your wellbeing first, sir. If the sounds I have just overheard are any indication of your current circumstances.

[In fairness, even if they'd talked without the influence of the golden tree, Raidou would still ask.]

I am being as careful as I can.

[Just not terribly subtle at the moment. Still, he'll chance discovery of his demons over letting the attacking zombies run roughshod over everyone in range.]

None of them have gotten close enough to harm me.
