[Despite her best efforts to understand Saitou-ese, it's rather difficult to jump from "you don't stand out" to "you look nice"--so she fails to know that he thinks that. Not that she'd know what to do if he did say that, so they really just are better off this way.

Instead, it's incredible to her that he even thinks she blends in, as grand as everything else is. She's maybe not as simple a person as Saitou--she does like nice things--but she is self-aware enough to know that she doesn't belong here.
