[The voice in the psychic network is even and self-effacing. It seems that all babies are safe this time. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if they were put back to sleep.]
Today I was told that some of you could pull objects out of thin air, and that I could eventually learn those same skills.
Given that my learning will take longer than smoking the rest of my pack, would anyone mind creating cigarettes for me? If necessary, I can work for them. I'm good at changing light bulbs, writing reports and tasting cake.

How old is she?

I suppose so. Though it's hard for me to think of her as "old", since she's my little sister.

...And she guesses that makes sense.] So you're the eldest sibling?
no subject
Yes. There are only the two of us.

[That's how older and younger siblings work in the TV shows she watches, most of the time. And when not they tend to be called out on it, so...]

I guess so...I was the one who took care of her when she was growing up, so I guess she worries a little about me now.
[Aside from the fact that her big brother is a friendless nerd who is absent-minded enough to set the kitchen on fire.]
Do you have siblings?

Why didn't your parents take care of you?
no subject
They are dead too. [He answers with care, but without any wish to bullshit a smart child. ] They died when we were young.
no subject
...And you didn't have grandparents to help out with raising you?
no subject
My grandfather and I are not close.
[And Jean prefers to keep things that way, though his sister has different ideas.
He adds, very gently.]
Do you have friends here?

And Gil's my adult. [Look, she has a dedicated adult, no need to worry about her being an unsupervised minor.]
Though half of them are stupid and don't remember that they knew me before coming here. [She is somewhat aware that that is obviously not their fault, but just as obviously she doesn't care; they're still stupid.]

Sometimes adults don't know better. You know that, right?
no subject
But you need an adult because people will ask you were your parents are and won't give you a job, at least not with fair conditions, and won't always trade with you or let you into places. [Adults are one of those necessities of life, like water. They can be pleasant under very specific circumstances and in general they're just a necessary background.]

[She sounds dubious. Mostly because - well. Nobody knows what will happen to them once the Arcanas' game ends, so if she can't escape before it does.. and even back home, the life she lives probably doesn't lend itself to getting terribly old, though that's not a thing that she really dwells on.
The future where she's an adult is a long way off, anyway.]
