open to investigators

Okay, I give up. What's a host club? What can we expect if we show up to this thing?

[ besides yet more twister-tossed sparkles, of course. ]

And did anyone get one of those confessions? I'm still trying to work out if those are as important as folks here seem to think they are.

To keep a possibly long explanation short, a Host Club is a place where people go for entertainment and conversation. Some people feel there is a sexual or romantic component to them, however, mostly for adults it is a lot of drinking and talking. In a school, however, it is more likely a place where, well, in my world it is girls, go to be flirted at by the host.

[She's realizing that she might be more in over her head than she realizes, but she goes on with her explanation.]

I would assume here there is quite a lot of flirting going on both ways. I am, er, investigating the club from the inside myself. Not completely sure how I got myself into it, but I did.

As to the confessions, I did recieve one, but it was quite generic. It seems that in the chaos of the mailroom that day, some love confessions got mixed up.

Then we should find who they belong to and return them, shouldn't we?

In theory, yes. However, I do not know if these mis-directed confessions are just among us, or among the entire student body of this school. It could be quite a tall order.
howexciting: (Che idea del cazzo)

[personal profile] howexciting 2015-02-26 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It is likely among everyone. A mail room, as I understand it, is a place where everyone sends their letters to be distributed, correct? It is likely to assume, then, that everyone's confessions might have been mixed up.

... but we at least have to try, do we not? It was a despicable act to disturb those confessions, and we should right such a problem as best we can.

[Wow, Leonardo... sounds a bit angry there. That's new.]

I don't know if you noticed, but that's our very own Alcuin running it, too.

I didn't get any confessions. But I did get a funny card in my locker. I think everyone did.

Oh, and Monkey talks now. And I can make light, which is funny, because I'm a tiefling and we're only supposed to make dark. This place is really awesome.
shiroganeheir: (damn love letters)

[personal profile] shiroganeheir 2015-02-26 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No, the shoe locker was completely different. The one I was mentioning was a confession of love. It was likely mis-directed, because even though the object of whoever's affections had similar actions to mine, the only person here who would know of my actions would not write this sort of letter.

[Her tone is slightly rambly.]

And absolutely. I will be doing as much investigation on my own as I can. I am hoping this will help facilitate that.
shiroganeheir: (eye on you)

[personal profile] shiroganeheir 2015-02-27 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Correct. A mail room in a school such as this would handle all of the letters that were meant to be distributed to the students. I believe something happened to stir all of the letters up. Whether or not that has anything to do with our presence here, I do not know. Perhaps it is part of our purpose.

Er, I am hardly the one to ask about love confessions. I would not know one if it hit me in the face. However, I do still have the one I received.
shiroganeheir: (grouchy)

[personal profile] shiroganeheir 2015-02-27 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
In general, I would agree with you, however, there is the wrinkle here that we might have something to do with this chaos, either directly or indirectly.

I would hardly wish to spend time attempting to get love confessions to their proper recipient, and would hope the Trumps would not wish that of us either.

[Is that a slightly-bitter tone? Probably.]
howexciting: (Son I am disappoint)

[personal profile] howexciting 2015-02-27 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[The psychic connection on Leonardo's end suddenly grows cool, logical.]

... fine, putting aside my emotions on the matter, I am assuming that this Jaunt is the work of the Lovers, given the blatant themes of love and relationships within this school, and that in order to solve this Jaunt we will need to promote as much love as possible. I believe that sorting the confessions correctly will solve the Jaunt and let us return to Liminal Space.

If you two would like to look for other alternatives, be my guest. I, however, am going to attempt what I can with the confessions.
shiroganeheir: (detecting)

[personal profile] shiroganeheir 2015-02-27 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I would likely concur. There is such a strong love and romance theme that if the Lovers is not connected somehow, I would be very surprised.

Are you thinking that part of our solution would be to promote relationships of various sorts, both among Travelers and the natives of this world? That would be... interesting to say the least.

If you are correct, we would have to know enough people to know not only their composition style, but who they might have an interest in, if these confessions we have recieved are not from fellow Travelers.
hakodate: can you drink in jail? (i have an important question...)

[personal profile] hakodate 2015-02-27 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I can see them pulling the kind of dick move that puts us sorting through all of that.
hakodate: whoever it was sent "fuck you, you're adopted" to half the people on my contact list. (who had my phone last night?)

[personal profile] hakodate 2015-02-27 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
The question I'd be asking is, what else have we seen that's potentially important enough to follow up on? If we get dropped into the middle of a situation, it usually means that what we're meant to be looking at is in there somewhere.
hakodate: but you insist i be conscious for sex. whatever. i really think your priorities are out of whack. (you don't care if i shave my legs)

[personal profile] hakodate 2015-02-27 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
If anyone has, I haven't heard about it.

Might be time for us to get on that.
tailforbrains: (tongue)

[personal profile] tailforbrains 2015-02-27 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, shush. There's no harm in relaxing a little. I mean, it could be like that dancing place, instead. Nothing horrible happened there, right?

...

[ So that is what a host club is! See, that already helps a lot, since Inigo was totally lost here.. the last school he was at sure didn't have one of those, after all, and even though he's taking in the information about the confessions he can't help but wonder-- ]

So are there no reverse host clubs, in that case..? [ You know, with girls.

Since otherwise he feels like he'd be walking into a huge no homo trap by showing up there. ]
tealeafs: (not reach you)

[personal profile] tealeafs 2015-02-27 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
.. a funny card?

[ Looks like someone here is missing out.. Chizuru blinks a little. ]

Um-- if it's alright to ask, what was on the card..? Or was it too personal?
howexciting: (Master Leonardo imagines an engine)

[personal profile] howexciting 2015-02-27 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Regardless of what it is or is not, Ambrose, I believe it is the best lead we have. However exploring the host club does seem to be a good idea, as well, so I might see you there.

[Ezio, uh, may or may not have invited him to the host club meeting.]

... actually, Naoto, there is another way. This school must have a composition course, correct? Like the Ivory Tower did, the university we were sent to several Jaunts before. If their essays are hand-written, then I would merely have to compare handwriting to see who it belongs to. It would provide us the name of the confessor, at least, and we could return it to them so they could get their confession to the right person.
tailforbrains: (tsk tsk)

[personal profile] tailforbrains 2015-02-28 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, it wasn't personal at all. I'm pretty sure it was just kind of random, people dropping notes in lockers without knowing. Mine said something like "make all your single friends jealous this Valentine's day!" Which, you know, kind of silly, since I don't exactly have anybody like that. So not personal at all.
shiroganeheir: (detecting)

[personal profile] shiroganeheir 2015-02-28 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
There are. I would not be surprised if there were both men and women at this one, as it seems questions of sexuality are rather irrelevant at this particular school.

[personal profile] upcard 2015-02-28 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Shirogane-san already explained the host club pretty well, I think... they're a little common, back home. Er, I mean, more common than it seems like for everyone else...

[FOCUS MAI... that's not the point here. The point is!!]

But... even if the confessions don't seem very important, if everyone here thinks they are, then...aren't they? [she has seen a lot of the investigators finding this jaunt trivial, and she can't blame them--it's a far cry from eldritch horrors. But nonetheless...]

They're...very important to the people here, so I think we have to treat them really importantly too...!
