But as some of you already heard, Toshizou and I are going to get married during this Jaunt. [ And despite somewhat natural nervousness of but whAT IF IT'S INCONVENIENT FOR EVERYONE ELSE lingering in her tone, she does sound very happy. It's not hard to tell. Just some nervous happy jitters about it still, really. ] It'll be on the 11th, so.. if you want to come, you can..! But I understand that people are busy with more important things as well, so please don't feel obligated at all..

[ .. look, maybe it's not the best announcement, but it could've been worse. It could've been Toshizou "COME OR DON'T IDGAF SHIT DAMN PISS HELL" Hijikata saying it. Instead it's just lingered with Chizuru's constant need to put her own needs fifteen miles behind everyone else's. ]

I think PSYCHENet is going to officiate it, so it could also maybe be helpful for finding out more about this Jaunt. If people are wondering about that sort of thing instead, I mean.

[ Mai really is too kind.. thinking so highly of her all the time, even when Chizuru doesn't think of herself as anything special. It's not like she's had many friends in her life before - none at all before she met the Shinsengumi, and even her relationships with them were a little different from your conventional kind of friendship. But even so, Mai feels like the kind of friend you don't just find easily. It's the kind of friend you only get a chance to meet once in a lifetime-- and it's a rare chance anyway, Chizuru knows. They come from different times, and it's only since they both got pulled into the Jaunts business that they met and are able to talk like this, but..

.. she's happy. Mai is too kind to her, but she's really, really happy.

So maybe, if it's Mai, then she can even say the one thing that she's hesitated to say to everyone here. It's a little scary, since maybe even someone as kind as Mai will be turned off by it, but-- she wants to try.

The other girl at least deserves that kind of honesty from her. ]

[She wasn't expecting that sort of response, but it's not something she'll ever hesitate over. If someone wants to talk to her about something, she'll always be there to listen; it's just in her nature. Even if she can't do anything to help...at least she can listen. And maybe that will be enough.

Okay. [It's as simple as that, she thinks. Chizuru won't tell her now, but someday she'll want to, and when that day comes...]

[ Oh, that's a lot of hobbies.. but she's sure she can help with some of them! Even if some of them sound completely unfamiliar to her, Chizuru can work with certain ones. ]

I like cooking too! [ That one, for example. Especially when it's actually useful, with having all these men to take care of.. ] Maybe we could teach each other some recipes? I'm sure they must have really different things where you come from.

Even if it makes her cheeks color a little, but thankfully it's just a mental conversation anyway. ]

That just makes her more determined to work a little harder on.. well, everything. To prove that being a demon isn't a bad thing necessarily, that she can be among everyone else and one of them even if she is a demon, even if she isn't human like them - so Mai can accept her, too, and she doesn't have to lose the happiness this friendship gives her. ]
