I know the Trumps sometimes use Liminal Space to send us messages, but I'm not at all sure what this one means. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think the last one meant that the Hierophant, Fortune, Temperance, and the Star are dead.

Okay... well, the stars and wheels are pretty obvious, I'll give you that. [Sadly, Naoki's not really up on overall tarot symbolism.] Did you get this from Margaret-san?

In any case, four of them being... missing at best doesn't sound like a good sign. Four of anything's not exactly a great place to start.

She did the reading that started me thinking about it, and those cards were missing from her deck as well.

Huh. She doesn't strike me as the type to carry around an incomplete deck. It'd be unprofessional of her. [And while he's only met her the once so far as he's aware, Margaret struck him as anything but unprofessional.]

So what is it they want us to do? Find them? Restore them somehow? But I guess that depends on whether they're actually dead or just missing, doesn't it.

But if I start thinking that way, then I think less about the damage we might be doing to the worlds we visit on the way. We're not always good for them.

Speaking from personal experience here, the things you need don't always come as something that's good for you. Besides, we don't get any choice about being thrown into this stuff. We're going to impact it one way or another, and us doing something might be good in the long term, even if it looks bad when we leave.

Yeah, well, when the best thing that ever happened to you starts with your sister dying, you think about these things. [Naoki's tone is fairly light, but he's not joking. He's gained so much in the last year, and gotten a sorely needed kick in the ass.

He just wishes the kick hadn't been what it was. But getting hung up on that does nothing but waste time, and he can waste enough time without going down that hole.]

[It feels wrong, not to respond to a statement like that. But true as he knows it is, it still leaves Souji speechless for a moment. Above all... if something like that can be true, is it right for him to be so bitter and angry with the Trumps? He can oppose them, and still look for the good in his life here... and if he doesn't, it might be hard to look Naoki in the face.]
