A day or two into return Liminal

Lupa here. I have been working on an idea with others including-- Thorne, and I believe I've finally mastered the stronger version of bridging to other spaces in order to test it properly.

My idea is that we might be able to get to worlds of past jaunts, if we can create a powerful enough bridge. Souji suggested Summoners or Necromancers, but I think it can also be accomplished with an established connection to a past world. I believe things like Pogemon partners, or Spirit Companions would count, for examples, and perhaps also skills or items that are closely interwoven with the fabric of their worlds.

I have Assist myself, but I believe we'll need several Assists to get the power to do this, and I know that there are other ways to increase the potency of skills, or pool resources among us.

Who wishes to make this attempt with me? It would be helpful if you can also give us an idea of what you can do, but I won't exclude anyone who wants to come, as long as we can take you. I don't think I can bring more than a handful with myself.

There is also the question of which world we should try to visit. Questing Country was mentioned last time, but I believe a return there should wait. Another option that was discussed was the Pogemon world, but I don't think we're limited to just those two.

I think in terms of going and safely returning before the next Jaunt that we should plan on doing it as soon as Liminal changes and new Travelers arrive. We'd be guaranteed a few days worth of time then.

There was a portal on Belljar Island - I believe that's what allowed Jules to break Liminal Space that once.

More importantly, it was long abandoned the last time we were there. Without the dubious benefit of our hosts' attempts at concealment, making that first attempt somewhere out of sight might be the wisest option.

... holy shit. I didn't think of Belljar, but you're totally right. That is the best place to test it first. And maybe get a better look at their portal.

I would be interested in going.

However, the situation in the world of Pogemon is.... Complicated. My overlay is not a good man, and dealing with him will involve more than what a few days could give us.

I have a fair number of grid skills as it stands, if someone could teach me Assist I would gladly lend it.

....the Grid would not be a poor choice of worlds either.

I've opened a bridge there before.

There was very little you could have done to prevent what had been set in motion.

The Slammer Master and his allies are good strategists.

I will gladly meet up with you before traveling to learn it.

It would certainly be quite illuminating.

The only skill that I have to offer is the ability to transform myself to match a local species if necessary.

I expect if it fails, it will drop the lot of us straight into the lap of one of our hosts.

I propose we leave at least one person in reserve to mount a rescue, and pair each person operating a Bridge with someone who can communicate across worlds, in case something goes wrong and we miss our mark.

It is one of the skills I retained from my time as a pogemon. My overlay was keeping it a secret. It has proved quite useful on a number of occasions.

Yes, as long as I know what I am shifting to. I cannot mimic abilities, only the way they look. I spent a lot of time as a rabbit when we were in Yensid. Stonefolk as well, though less often.

No. I can move between worlds, and I'd worked out how to bring others with me before my absence, but communicating between one side and the other is too new a trick for me to have had the chance to learn.

I have no reason not to help. If this succeeds, it could be the first step in finding a way home for those who wish to leave.

Add Yensid to your short list? We did pretty well there, and I seem to remember it being kind of important, what with the mutual victory.

Ahaha, is someone actually calling for a Necromancer? This sounds quite intriguing, and I believe I still maintain a connection to Achaea through the act of summoning as well.

Can I second that? I've still got a bunch of stuff from the old Forest Folk leader, too.

I am interested in going, and I have some skills that could be useful. Most importantly, I have psychic bridge. I can connect everyone back together for about 50 minutes, probably twice a week - or I can connect back with just myself for twice as long.

I have several connections to previous worlds, as well - technology or artifacts from a could worlds, a couple alternate forms, and some distinctive abilities exclusive to specific jaunt worlds. What criteria are we using to choose our first destination? Somewhere we're needed? The safest place to attempt to jump to?
