They were aware afterwards that there were people from other worlds. Or, as my overlay put it, "Interdimensional ninja" that had interfered. He and his band were planning on searching for them afterwards.

We should be able to tell if it's the same world by looking for information on any of those bands. They were all rather high profile, and if we can't find signs of them, then we can assume it's a different world.
