Okay, so somehow this guy used Ace's bident to send a message backstage, and that's why the Travellers are here. He sent out an SOS, and say what you will about Arcana meddling or the protagonists of all world's shittiest isekai, Travellers are unified by wanting to help.

Speaking personally, I don't care who gets the privilege of yelling at at an Adversary for Doing His Own Thing as long as Ace gets her bident back. But I'll defer to the others expertise here. Leader? I hardly know 'er. And I know y'all say I protest too much.

It was Travelers who aided Allura and Thae--ah, the first ones, not AA or my late uncle--in striking back against our Diabolin masters. I'm inclined to tentatively trust them.
lightnovelexperiences: (dunno if we can do it)

[personal profile] lightnovelexperiences 2020-09-02 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Did they? AA, that's legit?

...Right, the legend of the Girl Who Dreamed In Waking, Champion of Pilots. That's Traveller bullshit, wasn't it?
thornsofmalkav: (headphone)

[personal profile] thornsofmalkav 2020-09-02 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. The Champion of Pilots was a Traveler. There were others, of course, with them. When I was small I would always sigh over the Oracle of Oaths, beautiful as the dawn, who though he had no powers to bring to bear in the fight, came in a shirt of mail and bearing a sword--and with that sword killed six Diabolin on his own.

... ah, no offense to modern Diabolin of course. Sorry, Ace.

[personal profile] stupidhelmet 2020-09-02 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
...none taken. The Diabolin Empire was pretty shitty to basically everyone. I figure this is kind of like humans not getting mad when we fuck up the nightmares with the red armbands and go "FUCKING HUMANS" about it.

Another thing to get my Rage up I guess.

So uh.

Dreamshapers.

That's an idea for getting the world's largest thumbtack out of backstage.

Pez, Meg, Jazz, you're good at that. Who else?

Do I need to tell you all what a bad look it'll be for one of us alleged Starmovers in a trenchcoat to Sanction Grant?

He's a pain in the ass, but do not, I swear to Shineikha and to Aurora and Flamma too if it'll help you realize how fucking serious I am. Adonai will forgive me, but I won't forgive you.

If someone has to Sanction him for this shit, let it be one of the Roles that isn't suspected of being a tiny star wearing one of us like a meat puppet.

Ugh, those red armband human nightmares are the worst. Even more than the giant test proctors you get during Hecatite exam season.

...I can safely say FUCK the Red Armband Squad. Just... trust me, you can frag any human who does get mad at lumping them in with those guys on sight.

Those guys tried to stamp out my religion at least three times and we survived to have feast days about it and they can die mad about it.

He did that to Ace? What a jerk!

How did he even get it down there? Why isn't it in another Era right now?
lightnovelexperiences: (ready check)

[personal profile] lightnovelexperiences 2020-09-02 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, Shinji, how quickly you forget the lessons you taught us yourself. Was it not you who realized you could pin a motherfucker to the wall with a Bident, and that, in fact, Bidents were really, really good at pinning shit to Dreams?

He just pinned it so hard it got stuck.

[personal profile] whatspringislike 2020-09-02 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
The Oracles should be the ones to Sanction him. Like they Sanctioned the Adversary of Reaving - my old sempai used to have stories about that.

I know not all Adversaries are like that, but sometimes they just stop thinking about the rest of us, and we need to stop them.

Or - what if we send him down the Bore to get the Bident back?
whatspringislike: (eclipse)

[personal profile] whatspringislike 2020-09-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't know that would work on something like the Bore!

Wait, so - I think I can get it back. But I'll need to borrow another Bident, or to find someone who can make mine really big, and if we don't want Oracles asking questions we'll need everyone away from the Bore.
lightnovelexperiences: (ew)

[personal profile] lightnovelexperiences 2020-09-02 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
There's a thought. The question is what we'd have to do to show him we're good as our word - it's not just us he doesn't trust.

He thinks we're the same Starmover in a hundred different trenchcoats. He thinks the other Dreamers or their familiars anyway are the same something else in a million different trenchcoats.

Some kind of hostage exchange? I'll go be prisoner of someone he does trust.

[personal profile] lightnovelexperiences 2020-09-02 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
That may have to be a Traveller, but I think I have someone in mind. Guy named Casper. Oracle, and solidly one, even if he was surprised as hell to learn it, bless him.

A Dark Oracle - if it wasn't her Doppelganger Doppelganging, ye like unto a Doppelganger - suggested getting some Dreamshapers together to work the wall, which is probably a good thing to do alongside your idea. \

A plan that I'm sure will go over with the Oracles like a lead zeppelin, but maybe if it was their dreamshapers...

Well, I guess that's easier to try first. We can always do the flashy stuff later.

I'm ready to either be a hostage or try my Oracles Hate This One Trick.

[personal profile] whatspringislike 2020-09-02 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
I heard some Adversaries being pretty loud about cutting him loose, maybe one of them, if the Travelers won't, or the Oracles get stubborn about it.

Anyway, whatever the play is, I'm ready to back it.

Oh, I don't doubt it.

Which is why we should consult the nearest friendly Champ, Naysayer or Oracle and see if they doubt it, natch. How did Pez put it?

"The risks we took were calculated, but gods, are we bad at math," I believe.

A human sentiment that translates perfectly into the Hecatite idiom.

Right. Note to self: Red Armbands are Human Ancient Diabolins and should be treated as such.

Allura Aredhel, Elven Coordinator of Suns

[personal profile] gal_paladin 2020-09-02 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
...Allura the Liberator was a Traveller, or resonated with one. I've just met her, and there's no mistaking her face, her demeanor... her Companion... her aura.

We are agreed that if that secret gets out, it will not be a Coordinator who does so? I do not care if a Traveller's soul guided hers in our liberation; we were liberated still. But if word of this gets out -

- gods, she's worthy of Shacklebreaker. May still have an echo of it.

She would know no peace. We cannot do that to her.

I agree. Not a word.

... do you think Thae resonated with one too?
