So they're some kind of offshoot of liminal space? A bit like those rooms people have made, but way less fluffy and friendly.
If there's no proof, then there's no reason to think anyone's gotten home at all. They could just be stuck in one of these dungeons forever. Or dead.
[Other people might like to think that they get home anyway. Matthew's not optimistic enough for that]
