Okay, okay, so, everyone stay the hell away from Matthew. I don't know what the hell he's doing, but he's some kind of monk, and he's talking to ghosts, and he and the ghosts are freaking terrifying and tried to kill me! And he was gonna interrogate me with this scary as hell tree-lady-ghost-thing who wanted my blood, and I barely got out of there alive!

...and...uh...he kind of startled the crap out of me, so I...ah...lost my tail, and I...er, well...he's...still got it...

I mean, I can grow it back, but I don't know if he could find me or find us or do things with it before it vanishes.

[Somehow he has managed not to address the issue of why he's got a tail in the first place. Amazing.]

He knows that now, he saw through the Mask somehow, at least a little bit, probably because he's a couple tacos short of a combination platter--and got really aggressive with asking what I was.

No, no, I dropped it when he summoned the terrifying ghost lady into visibility and it scared the absolute crap out of me. It was like a scene from The Grudge in there!

And he wanted to know my name, who I was working for, who I was with, what I was doing there, that sort of thing. Apparently sitting just under a rooftop gets you mistaken for a spy around here.

[The grudge? Not a grudge? What does a grudge have to do with ghosts? Granted, anything which involves angry ghosts would be terrifying, and it's interesting that he says it was summoned into visibility, not summoned into existence...]

The Grudge, yeah, it's a movie, I couldn't even really handle the previews...

[Jules not doing well with a horror movie is probably one of the most unsurprising things that's come out of his mouth, really.]

I told him that I was a Lurkglider and that I didn't know who or what had sent me and that I really wasn't a spy, honest, and that my name was Gilligan.

I managed that much, not telling him my real name.

[That's good, right? He lied a little, props to him, good job Jules.]

That is better than might be expected, having been so surprised.

Somehow I doubt he believed any of it, however, it is a start. How did you escape?

...it kind of took me a minute to remember I knew how to make portals, and I left through one of those.

No, no, I didn't look back, and I closed it as fast as I could, so he wouldn't be able to follow me. I don't know what he did after that, or if he realized what I did.

All right. That was a good instinct. If he is not sure what happened, he may not know where you went or connect it to the rest of us. Closing it stopped him from possibly seeing through into liminal space as well. He may believe it to be something only you can do, however, so be careful. There may be people hunting for you now. I should spend some time in liminal space if I were you, my friend.
