[ The voice might not be exactly welcomin - which is why Chizuru hesitates a little in answering at it, even though it's never too difficult to do so mentally. But on the other hand, the message being sent is worrying, so she can't just ignore it either before getting to the bottom of it. ]

Um.. sorry, but what do you mean, "a death touch"..?

A touch that cripples a person, rendering them abut useful.

[Annie nearly sneers in annoyance, but says nothing more to get herself all flustered.]

[ She's slowly getting the feeling she's walking on barbs here with this conversation - or, well, more like she's trying to avoid them but instead faceplanting full into them. ]

There's people here who have something like that? I-- I haven't seen anything like that yet.. it didn't happen to anyone, did it? [ Instant worry, but what else is new with Chizuru. ]

[She sighed to herself.]

Someone I know is crippled, I'd prefer to cripple them before they find me.

.. Sorry. [ She can only imagine how painful it must be for that to happen to someone you know - Chizuru already felt bad enough when she found out about Heisuke's blindness and Ibuki's muteness. Having endured a death touch sounds even worse than that. ]

I'm sure no one would want to do that on purpose, though.. if you know who did it to that person you know, can't you just talk to them?

[Annie shook her head back and forth, she wasn't completely sure who did it, but she wanted no part of it. She cleared her throat a little, starting to think back to her own world for a minute. Then again, she wouldn't get the same opportunity to get angry over something Armin did.]

I don't know who did it, but I wouldn't just speak to them. They've done enough damage.

[ She bites her lip for a moment, staring at her shoes as she thinks. ]

Does your friend need help..? Um, the one who got crippled, I mean.

We aren't friends, I just don't want to deal with the same reckless behaviour.

[Annie was clearly bored or she seemed bored as she continued to look over some of the room.]

[ See, Chizuru is the type to assume that if someone is concerned, they're concerned over someone else rather than about themselves.. mostly since it's the way she usually acts herself. So there's a mental kind of "oh.." at the response before a pause lingers for a moment or two. ]

I'm sorry, I just.. assumed with the way you were talking about it that you were frihends..

I'm not friends with anyone.

[Annie says as stiffly as she could. Granted, she didn't want to really admit it.]

.. Not with anyone? [ Okay, that other part she could understand, it was just a misunderstanding, but this..? It sounds so very lonely to say something like that - honestly, Chizuru can't even imagine how someone would live by themselves like that. ]

Why not? I mean.. wouldn't that be lonely?

[ Maybe this girl just never had the opportunity to make any friends? Because in that case Chizuru would easily be first in line to try and show her what it's like and how much better it is than being alone. ]
