Sent out some time during the first week of the World Series

Has anyone seen Faed Va'paruun in the past few hours? Insectoid, green, sarcastic?

Anyone heard of any of us being taken in the middle of events?

[The raspy voice sounds slightly more agitated than usual.]

I haven't seen him, but I also can't find two of my packmates. Their scent is gone, I can't ready them on the network, but the packbond is still in place.

As far as I'm aware, this is new.

Pack bond? [Packmates?]

[professorwolf]

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought everyone knew. I'm a werewolf. And during that Jaunt a while back where everyone was werewolves or vampires or the like, a number of people picked up those forms. A handful of those became my pack, here.

[what_do_you_see]

How does the pack bond work? Allows you to feel if others are alive or dead? Do they have to be close by?

[professorwolf]

And how they're feeling, if they're feeling it strong enough. Being closer makes it stronger, but I'll always feel them unless the bond is broken. Or across a large enough body of water, I suppose.

So wherever they are, they're fine, at least.

Faed, you said, right?

[He remembers the bug-person smell, and the vague sense of what his mind is like on the psychic network, so he does a search... and does not in fact come up empty. Neither, in fact, do Tick-Tock and Gale come up as missing.]

It actually seems like they're all still here, just in a different dimension of liminal space, like a dungeon.

[sharply] How can you tell?

There's an ability connected to the psychic network that allows you to locate people. Armin uses it every time we come back from a Jaunt to tell who has vanished on us, and he taught it to me.

I might be able to walk you through it, if you like?

[That sounds very, very useful.] Yes.

Where are you? It'll be easier to explain in person, I think. I'm fairly good at this telepathic network thing, but I'm still more used to teaching things face to face.

Area with the pillows. What do you look like?

A short Englishman with blonde hair, glasses, and a brown suit. I think I'm the only one about that fits that description. I can pop out my wings or fox ears if that will help.

[And a shift to action? Or shall he go hit up a top-level? XD ]

No top level to be had, so let's shift to action.

And with a little bit of searching, the two should be able to find each other. Rorschach has yet to learn a skill from another Traveler, but it seems about time. Besides, it should distract him from worrying about Faed for a short while at least. He nods to the taller man when spotting him, the shifting blots on his mask drifting lazily upward, then spreading out.

It's pretty uncommon for Lyall to be taller than anyone who isn't a child or a pretty small woman, so he blinks in mild surprise finding the hatted fellow looking up at him. "I'm afraid I don't actually know your name," he starts with, apologetically. "I'm Randolph Lyall." Though he's pretty sure Rorschach will know that; he's introduced himself on the network several times, now.

"Rorschach," he says shortly - and the redhead has done the same, but not directly to Lyall himself. He holds out a gloved hand to the werewolf, exposing the sleeve of what looks like a proper suit under the trenchcoat.

The answering handshake might come across as weak, but what it really is, is careful. Lyall has werewolf strength, and he has to be careful not to hurt anyone on accident when shaking hands. "Ah. The face mask makes sense, then." As well as being rather fascinating, honestly. Is there some kind of magic to the movement of the ink? "It's a pleasure to meet you in person."

Rorschach is not, apparently, the kind of man who uses too-firm handshakes to establish dominance or judge a man, as his own is brief and of a seemingly average strength. He just nods at the pleasantries, and even up close, it's difficult to say what is making the splotches move, or how the man behind them sees through them.

"Yes. You know a lot about how to do things here?"

"I know some, though I'm hardly an expert. I've been studying the psychic network though, after a fashion, and as I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to friends of mine, this particular skill seemed useful to pick up." Nevermind that he made the effort to learn it after someone he cared about up and vanished, and he didn't know until Armin told him....
