[In theory, Sio was trying to just think this at Hijikata, but she's kind of bad at the focus thing when she's actually freaking out a bit. So. Hi everyone.]

H-Hijikata-sama... I'm in Greengard with Souji-san. Your Souji-san. A-and think we've got a problem...

Something's really really wrong with him. He's acting super weird, um, I mean, more weird than before, and scary, I mean, different-scary... we're here with Fang-san and we're in this spooky forest and I don't know why he wanted us to come here but I think there's zombie unicorns and that's kind of freaking me out.

I know he's an Infiltrator now b-but... do we... do anything?

[Ignoring the fact that she asked for Hijikata specifically - Heisuke just blurts out the first thing on his mind.]

What happened to him? [While Souji is generally weird... it's Souji so if he's hurt or something of course it riles him up a bit.]

And-and how weird exactly? [He could be mumbling to himself or just lost in thought or homicidal weird... the guy did like threatening to kill people. Of course Heisuke's mind is spinning so fast because Souji that he doesn't think to introduce himself first and explain how he knows him and that this is his Souji too.]

W-well! He was in the dinner party thing that went really badly? And now I think he kind of broke...

[She trails off, not sure how to put it. Sio isn't good with people and their crazy. What is she even doing here why is she trying to be the responsible adult. Who is even asking, why are they not Hijikata why isn't Hijikata fixing this.]

Do you, um, do you know him?

Broke... how broke are we talking?

Oh- I'm Heisuke Toudou, Captain of the 8th Division of the Shinsengumi.

[He jabs his thumb towards his chest proudly, grinning a little.]

Hijikata-san and Souji and I are all from the same place.

[Even through the psychic network, there's a bit of an awed breath there. All those Shinsegumi people that just keep being around and being real. It is seriously a good thing that she's got bigger fish to fry here.]

He's really quiet and he won't leave this place a-and also there was the bit where his wolf changed color before...

When did Souji get a wolf?

[More importantly who the hell in their right mind would let him have a wolf?]

Ah, never mind... I guess that's not an important question. Have you been able to properly speak with Hijikata-san?

[He could always just... check. Since he's going to check in with him anyway, but details.]

I guess it's because he's an Infiltrator? He has a white one but, um, when the magic thing happened it turned black or... maybe it isn't the same wolf...

[Don't look at her, she has no idea. Who'd let anyone have a wolf? Wolves aren't fluffy pets!]

Yeah, I, I think he's really worried. He's coming here... are you all coming?

[It's a bad time for it but she can't help the tiniest tingle of excitement because ohmygod all the Shinsegumi.]

Oh, I see.

[No, he really doesn't... but that's neither here nor there.]

O-of course I am!! [His voice raises a bit, as if she'd be crazy to think he'd sit out on this! Souji needs him, right? Maybe.]

Like I'd sit around and wait for someone else to go get him.

[Yeah she's in the same boat, man. Wolves, magic, no one knows. She's really glad to hear that determination, because it means that this will soon cease to be her problem.]

[Not to be sexist or anything but well... it is Souji and he's seen him cut men in half like butter.Please don't die for their sake that would just be bad. Very, very bad.]

Ah well there's me and Hijikata-san probably, I dunno about Sano I haven't seen him around in this post so maybe... and I guess Ryuunosuke but I dunno how useful he'd be since he's not that great with a sword -

and then there's the other Souji. But I'm sure we won't need too many! It's not like we're going to kill him or anything.

I can't wait! We're right here in the spooky forest, a-and we're just going deeper in it!

[And he's looking for something. She's sure about that, too. And considering spooky forest and spooky Souji, Sio is reasonably certain that it can not be anything good.]

Sano... you mean... Harada Sanosuke... waahhh... [she makes a tiny high-pitched noise as the gravity of the situation hits her again. The awesome gravity.] T-that's actually so cool...

Eh? You know him already?

[So people from other worlds knew about them? Or had she just been told about him from one of the others? Either way he feels a little bummed she didn't react quite the same way about his introduction. Jealous of Sano getting all the ladies as usual? Maybe a little. Not that it mattered to him since usually when they went out it was just to hang out - at least on his end of things.]

[Oh shit wait can she say anything, is she going to create a pime taradox, she's been dodging around this stuff with all the other Shinsegumi members she'd spoken with and now there are going to be all of them in the same place. All of them. She may not be able to cope with this.]

U-um... I mean um... Chizuru-san told me.

[Whew good save. Now let's try to stop making fangirl noises. At the actual Toudou frigging Heisuke what is her life even.]

Chizuru told you about Sano? What did she say?

[Please tell him it wasn't talking about how great he is and mentioning nothing of Heisuke himself. He will just go pout in a corner now. Though he is a bit suspicious of if she knows any intimate details of their operations. He'd have to ask Chizuru sometime about that.]

[This is when she bluffs like her life depends on it, or at least history as she knows it. The problem is that she is terribad at bluffing. Cue the flustered stammering.]

She said that, um, that he was, um - strong! A-and good with a sword, and... things...

[Might as well go the whole nine yards. That way she'll hopefully only have to go through this once...]

Sh-she told me about all of you! You're all amazing!

A spear.

[He's correcting her a little but the fact that she's visibly flustered makes his own flustered feelings not quite so pronounced.]

Sano-san uses a spear. But... that's nice to know you guys think that way.

[Blushing? Him? No, never. Okay, he's totally sort of red faced. It's not every day he hears Chizuru talks about him to other girls. It's not as if he can make something of that information, right? No, probably not.]

A s-spear! Right! Right!

[Oh jeez that took no time at all. Sio would like to focus on how Todou friggin Heisuke is kind of adorkable and happy at the praise like he's not some huge deal samurai or something, but she's a bit distracted by the certainty that she is breaking the timeline.]

I just got confused because you're all s-samurai and she said you were all so good and really great fighters and, and...

[Is that foot all the way down her throat yet?]

That's okay! I mean, it's kind of a minor thing anyway, if you think about it. Sano-san isn't the type to point it out or get bothered either.

[Gosh she keeps saying how great they are and he's almost guilty that she doesn't realize they're just a bunch of morons who thought it would be a good idea to take on the Imperial Army. Though the praise is really nice... he can soak it up a little, right?]

Well, if I end up in a scrape any time soon, maybe you'll get to see me in action!

[It would probably happen sooner rather than later...]

[Shh don't ruin her romanticizing man. It is a known fact that the Shinsegumi were badass, especially for people who still relied on swords. The only thing stopping her from going on and on about that fact is the fear of accidentally undoing the Meiji Restoration.

The idea of seeing him in action causes her to have a minor heart attack for a moment before reality catches up.]

Umm, just - don't - get in a scrap with Souji-san, okay?

Huh? No of course not. He might be out of his mind but he's still Souji. We wouldn't hurt him.

[Although the thought of this person attacking him with all of Souji's deadly skill and killing instinct was mildly terrifying but he's not going to tell her that and scare her more.]

I'm sure we can calm him down.

Does he, uh... does he do that a lot?

[Because history never mentioned anything along those lines. Not that she can blame historians for it. Being unmatched with a sword and dying tragically at a young age are the kind of things you want in your hero. A tendency to go batshit and need a whole troupe to stop you, not so much.]

The... being really scary... thing.

Do what? Act scary? Yeah he can but- usually he'll say he wants to kill you but really he doesn't mean it and sometimes he really does but that's pretty rare and he's actually a pretty good guy, you know?

[Taking a breath, he back tracks a little trying to correct himself and not scare the living daylights out of the poor girl.]

Souji's one of the good guys, I promise. He's just not thinking clearly right now.

[He was so firm in his convictions of what he's saying that he hopes it will be enough to put her at ease.]

Just do whatever Hijikata-san tells you and you should be fine. He's an expert at dealing with Souji.
