[In theory, Sio was trying to just think this at Hijikata, but she's kind of bad at the focus thing when she's actually freaking out a bit. So. Hi everyone.]

H-Hijikata-sama... I'm in Greengard with Souji-san. Your Souji-san. A-and think we've got a problem...

Something's really really wrong with him. He's acting super weird, um, I mean, more weird than before, and scary, I mean, different-scary... we're here with Fang-san and we're in this spooky forest and I don't know why he wanted us to come here but I think there's zombie unicorns and that's kind of freaking me out.

I know he's an Infiltrator now b-but... do we... do anything?

Chizuru told you about Sano? What did she say?

[Please tell him it wasn't talking about how great he is and mentioning nothing of Heisuke himself. He will just go pout in a corner now. Though he is a bit suspicious of if she knows any intimate details of their operations. He'd have to ask Chizuru sometime about that.]

[This is when she bluffs like her life depends on it, or at least history as she knows it. The problem is that she is terribad at bluffing. Cue the flustered stammering.]

She said that, um, that he was, um - strong! A-and good with a sword, and... things...

[Might as well go the whole nine yards. That way she'll hopefully only have to go through this once...]

Sh-she told me about all of you! You're all amazing!

A spear.

[He's correcting her a little but the fact that she's visibly flustered makes his own flustered feelings not quite so pronounced.]

Sano-san uses a spear. But... that's nice to know you guys think that way.

[Blushing? Him? No, never. Okay, he's totally sort of red faced. It's not every day he hears Chizuru talks about him to other girls. It's not as if he can make something of that information, right? No, probably not.]

A s-spear! Right! Right!

[Oh jeez that took no time at all. Sio would like to focus on how Todou friggin Heisuke is kind of adorkable and happy at the praise like he's not some huge deal samurai or something, but she's a bit distracted by the certainty that she is breaking the timeline.]

I just got confused because you're all s-samurai and she said you were all so good and really great fighters and, and...

[Is that foot all the way down her throat yet?]

That's okay! I mean, it's kind of a minor thing anyway, if you think about it. Sano-san isn't the type to point it out or get bothered either.

[Gosh she keeps saying how great they are and he's almost guilty that she doesn't realize they're just a bunch of morons who thought it would be a good idea to take on the Imperial Army. Though the praise is really nice... he can soak it up a little, right?]

Well, if I end up in a scrape any time soon, maybe you'll get to see me in action!

[It would probably happen sooner rather than later...]

[Shh don't ruin her romanticizing man. It is a known fact that the Shinsegumi were badass, especially for people who still relied on swords. The only thing stopping her from going on and on about that fact is the fear of accidentally undoing the Meiji Restoration.

The idea of seeing him in action causes her to have a minor heart attack for a moment before reality catches up.]

Umm, just - don't - get in a scrap with Souji-san, okay?

Huh? No of course not. He might be out of his mind but he's still Souji. We wouldn't hurt him.

[Although the thought of this person attacking him with all of Souji's deadly skill and killing instinct was mildly terrifying but he's not going to tell her that and scare her more.]

I'm sure we can calm him down.

Does he, uh... does he do that a lot?

[Because history never mentioned anything along those lines. Not that she can blame historians for it. Being unmatched with a sword and dying tragically at a young age are the kind of things you want in your hero. A tendency to go batshit and need a whole troupe to stop you, not so much.]

The... being really scary... thing.

Do what? Act scary? Yeah he can but- usually he'll say he wants to kill you but really he doesn't mean it and sometimes he really does but that's pretty rare and he's actually a pretty good guy, you know?

[Taking a breath, he back tracks a little trying to correct himself and not scare the living daylights out of the poor girl.]

Souji's one of the good guys, I promise. He's just not thinking clearly right now.

[He was so firm in his convictions of what he's saying that he hopes it will be enough to put her at ease.]

Just do whatever Hijikata-san tells you and you should be fine. He's an expert at dealing with Souji.
