It's true; the rules from our worlds, the rules that we expect, they aren't the same here. But at it's core, Liminal Space is a place inbetween. The gap between worlds, the veil, whatever you want to call it - it's connected to all of our worlds. All the worlds we visit. So when you're on a jaunt, it's still there, just beyond your senses.
