synopsychic | Backdated to 2 days into the second week of the month of the goat

As many of you already know, I retained the ability to discern the will of other creatures, and I have been employing that ability to gain knowledge of the Singer of the corrupted Song. It is a draining process, so I had to split it into two forays, and I reported the first a few days ago. I just finished the second one.

Just for the ease of listeners, this was what I discovered the first time: There were two wills, and one was dominating the other. The dominated will was bitter and anguished.

This time I focused my efforts more deeply on the dominated will. These are the results. The Singer has been...programed by that other will. There is room for disobedience to that programming, but the Singer shies away from contemplating it because of the painful consequences. The Singer also wills for an end, either for healing and freedom from the demands of the other will, or for death and the rest that brings, but does not strive towards those because the Singer believes both options to be impossible.

We can give the Singer hope for an end, and I believe we must. That anguish must be stopped, one way or another. Who is with me, and does anyone have ideas on how to undo programming of that kind?

If I time things right, I can switch from mermaid to vampire, but I dunno how effective one little vampire will be against a zombie whale. Still wanna try, though.

Yeah, seriously. I'm still going out there in mermaid form, because I'll want to Sing of Breath if needed and I can't guarantee that we'll have the showdown at night or that the stuff keeping me and Melissa from catching fire back in Nova Venezia will work here.

That ain't up to me, I guess. I'm just pokin' my nose in with some safety suggestions, here, I'll do whatever other folk are thinkin' they want to do otherwise.

Mostly I meant having you and maybe one or two others going off in their party, if Alcuin-- Alosa lets you, while the rest of us form our other party to try to deal with it using our weird powers and shit. With the psychic network, we can tell you where to keep them away from the fight--and if you guys find it first, you can sensory livestream it so that someone with remote portals can bring us in.

I mean, not me. I still haven't learned that one. But someone else, maybe.

That, I can do. Not the portals thing, but call if we find it. I'm definitely goin' out with whatever expedition they put out from this school.

I would prefer to put this being out of whatever misery it is in as swiftly and painlessly as possible, should the attempt to break the programming in place fail.

Didn't say it was the best idea. But neither is electricity underwater.

We'll figure somethin' out that's neither one of those things, all right? There's more than enough of us to work out somethin' that we can do that'll work without potentially destroyin' half the sealife.

Perhaps there is a way to test the range on it underwater? like an explosive, if it is something that needs to be resorted to now or at a later time.

I can help here. I haven't personally tested electricity underwater, but I've read up on it.

Give it a mile perimeter, maybe two, and everything outside that radius should be peachy. If you really feel like testing it in Liminal, we're not testing the pond people are coming in and out of, and we're definitely not testing it with anyone in the water, or else they'll be in the floor for longer than we need the help, probably.

What about in a created space large enough?

Would you be able to find a way to measure how far it travels?

That might work. Far as measuring goes, I can come up with something.
