And now for something completely different
Okay, so I've been spending a lot of time in Liminal since every time I go out, I get harassed by wind spirits...
...but I think I just lit upon something really awesome while hiding in the Workshop!
[What follows next is a musical interlude played on computer parts.]

[She crouches down for a closer look at one. It looks pretty complicated, all right-- more complicated than any machine from her time, anyway, though she's seen worse when Traveling in modern times and beyond.]

[That's curious. Most of the non-humans seem to come from a time more like hers. If not exactly hers, in the case of the Drow.]

[There's a long, awkward pause.]
I. Uh, I didn't always have the tail and the horns. That...kind of just happened when I, um, got taken by the True Fae...

[Neeshka looks skeptical, even holds up her hands and makes little flapping motions at her shoulders, like little fairy wings. Because true fae are probably closer to elves, in her world, albeit elf sorcerers or something... the "fae" she's met were more along the Tinkerbell type.]

Faeries. Like every single fairy tale omnipowerful magic witch or monster or whatever kind of thing you can think of, only worse.

[There's a shudder.]

I met a few once. They were pretty awful. So if demons kidnapped you, I guess, um, I'm sorry?
[She's not great at sympathy, but comparing them to demons makes it more personal.]

[Change of topic! Need to have a change of topic! He grabs a keyboard.]
But, anyway, here's Wonderwall.
[The hard drives start cranking out a cover of that song, just as he says.]

What's a wonder wall?

[Enjoy having someone completely unaware of modern pop music, Jules.]

[There's a little muttered singing under his breath as he goes through the lyrics, and...]
...I'm not actually sure what it's about.

[She doesn't really care all that much, but Jules is fun to needle at a bit.]

It's just a song!
[And needling him is so easy, too.]
no subject
Oh, calm down. Gods, you over-react to everything, even me asking you a question about a song.
[She looks amused rather than annoyed, though.]
no subject
[There he goes overreacting to being told he's overreacting.]

Says the guy over-reacting to being told he's over-reacting.
no subject
[He totally is.]
