And as unpleasant as the experience was, I know I'm not entirely without sympathy for her position.

Not that she regrets being uncooperative herself, or planning to aid in the rescue. She may not be entirely without sympathy, but she is entirely without the desire to end up as someone's lab experiment, or to let anyone else suffer that fate.]

It's those lives that they slip us into on Jaunts. I'm not sure any of us really know how they work... they're people who were already there and keep on existing afterwards.
