Well. That was a very cultural experience, no? But from all the confused noises in my head now, it seems like we have finished the Investigation. Successfully, too. Sometimes when we do well, our benevolent masters give us a few days vacation time, and it looks like that’s the case now. There’s an open portal behind the Midnight Rose, or if you’re stuck far away, just give a shout and Remy will come and get you. Anyone hurt? Or dead, for that matter? There was enough shooting that even on vacation, we should maybe keep our heads down the next few days. Or just day trip to Manhattan.

Perhaps so. I beg your pardon, as I am still relatively new to this. What is the significance of the dungeon portal?

At the end of a jaunt, sometimes we lose people. They don't come back through the portal. Instead, they get lost, in places like that. Every now and then we have the chance to go and get a few back.

Of course I will help. Are there predictable risks involved?

There's usually a fight. Something keeping them there. And a maze, something keeping them lost.

I'm all right but... I can't be the only one in need of a drink. And I still don't get what this whole prohibition thingy is supposed to accomplish.

Well, with a speakeasy right outside the door, sober should be an easy problem to fix.

As for Prohibition, mon ami, all it really did was drive up the prices.

Looks like Drake got a little singed somewhere, but so far, everyone else seems just fine. Or still dead.

I'll check into him. We lost at least one person during the Jaunt. [She doesn't say Erik's name, content to give him his privacy.] I suppose we can do a head count. I hope we don't lose anyone like we did between last Jaunt and Liminal Space.

A few get lost every time. But looking around, I'd say the Trumps seem pretty happy with us. It's very reassuring.

But is that something we want at this point? I can see the benefits of staying on their good side but after what's happened--

Ah...did we? I seem to have...missed it. Is that not a problem, as long as someone finds himself involved? I'll admit, I was expecting a much stricter system from what I'd heard of the last Jaunt.

Every time, a new adventure. The only thing you can be sure of is that it's never the same twice.

I don't know what this one was about yet. Just that we did it.

Well, I'm glad to hear that, at least. I suppose we'll all find out what transpired once we've had the chance to regroup and talk it over with the investigating half. Charles Xavier, incidentally, as I've yet to introduce myself. Had it something to do with a sort of "turf war"? I remember noticing a certain level of tension on my nights out.
