Well bending doesn't run in the family either, whether or not someone borns to be a bender is coincidental and then it is even more coincidental to be born to be the Avatar -- that's my title back home, means I can bend all the elements and I'm supposed to bring balance to the world with it and be the bridge between the mortal world and the Spirit World. Though some siblings can both be born to be benders, I know a few but then all of them are not and some of them can be benders of different elements.
