A Warning [Shortly after liminal change]

Hey. So noticed somethin' a little off about the tea-rivers or whatever they are. They're in a particular pattern. Pretty much exactly the same pattern as a little town on Earth we went to that almost got us all eaten by tentacle shit-heads.

Think we might need to prep some eldritch defense and memory restoration and shit, if we're goin' back to fuckin' Harrogate. I got both, in case anybody was wonderin' or wanted someone to hit them up with either one once Jaunt gets goin'.

Most of the nasties we had to deal with back home weren't entities from his writings, but enough of them were and have the same blind spots that I'm confident my world's techniques will work.

Ask me about Nyarlathotep's weeaboo phase sometime.

... I wouldn't be super sure about that. Being overconfident like that could get you killed. Or worse. Probably worse.

I seem to remember having a talk with the changelings about making asses of you and me...

But I'm certain enough that Harrowgate's Old Yeller and my own world's are the same being, from my experiences last time, that I'm willing to stake my life and sanity on it.

Which, you know. Is a thing I'd be doing anyway.

Fair. Screwing this up can get you worse than killed; calling my bluff was the smart move.

Many of them are extradimensional and liminal beings themselves. On par with the Arcana. They can show up in any world they know the way to. The King was haunting liminal well after we screwed up Harrowgate the first time.

We should probably go for the knockout punch this second round.

Great. But if they're eldritch, is that even possible? I mean from what I know they can't... really be killed.

... Then again I would have said that about most gods in my world, too, but I was very wrong.

All joking aside, I'd consider preventing an incursion without collateral damage and making the next incursion that much harder a big win.

Right. Okay. Gods, you'd think with all the occult stuff I know from my world someone would have mentioned 'hey, Lovecraftian horrors may or may not be real, here's how to not die from them' but I guess that may be hoping for too much.

Or your world is better protected, by the Gods, who have both an interest in keeping the walls between worlds built up strong and the ability to do so.

... I mean yeah that's fair. They're doing what they can against the Titans. Still, I feel like someone should have clued me in if they were an actual thing in my world. I can't tell if I'm relieved or disappointed on missing out on that knowledge.

Better eldritch defenses overall be a side effect of their titanomachic tango. Or maybe the cults that do exist are weak and scattered. Or the Titans count. There's a lot of things that might be going on.

Considering some of the titans are 'literally pure elemental forces' in some cases, I wouldn't be surprised if they did count.
