The Mundane Problems Don't Stop

[For once Rose actually isn't on camera. Though she can be heard screaming in the background]

I know this is way lower priority than all the Harrogate business.

[Though apparently the best thing he can do for Rose is keep himself sane so maybe that's actually going to be relevant]

But does anyone have clever long term ideas for pain? She's... teething.

[Please someone come up with something nothing she's chewing on is helping.]

HURTS!

Chill a spoon or pacifier - not frozen, but enough that it's cool. That helps, generally. Gentle pressure also helps. Chamomile also helps, if it's available.

I can show you how to apply the pressure properly, if you'd like.

Do you think you can show me where you are? I can head that way. It's easier to tell in person rather than me just giving you directions.

All right. I'll be along in a minute.

[And true to his word, he does show up fairly quickly, knocking on the door before opening it and peering inside.]

[He knows that tone all too well. He heads over, looking down at Rose. His tone softens significantly as he speaks, kneeling to speak to Rose.]

It's about that time in your life, hm? It'll get better. Here.

[He glances to Wash before he moves to pick up Rose.]

Is it all right if I hold her?

[He knows just how protective some parents can get.]

Would a herbal or a more modern medical approach be prefered?

...I can also try healing it, but that likely would only help for the short term...

A combination might be best. There are some infused oils that are good for topical pain relief and act as both antibacterial anti-inflammatories that can help for the immediacy, and a liquid painkiller in a low dose to ease the irritation for long term.

Those likely would be the hardest to have erupt, yeah.

Where are you two, currently? I can make up what's needed and bring it over.

...I can shut off her sense of pain, as a temporary measure, if it gets too bad and nothing else works. But I'd prefer not to do that, for obvious reasons.

I could also dull her sense of feeling for a time. [With his corviger abilities. Because every father wants a vampire leeching off his child sense of feeling.]

Alternately, I could... try to create a cantrip to sooth pain. But I don't know how quickly I could manage that. [Especially in the midst of the pre-Harrogate furor.]

Heat is a separate sense, but essentially, yes. I was only offering that as a last resort.

The cantrip wouldn't be messing with her senses, essentially just a magical version of painkillers - probably less dangerous and more easily directed. [Not that painkillers are usually dangerous. But for a baby...]
