I know what the situation looked like to a random tourist. Can someone fill me in on what we've found beneath the surface? Something's obviously direly wrong.

Especially the ghosts. What do we know about the ghosts?

It may have something to do with the threats faced the last time there were Travelers in the city. If not, it is a disturbing coincidence.
