Anyway, does anyone want to go explore the sinkhole? I'm not sure what's down there, but we probably should go in teams of two at least.

Exactly. Which is why it's important to go down there... but the buddy system is going to be needed if it's that bad.

Not super sure where to find rope, and I can't portal back to Liminal Space. I can climb easily, but I guess you'll probably have trouble, yeah.

I'll get some rope. It's not just about climbing. In the dark, you don't want to risk being separated, but sometimes you only want one person on an uncertain surface.

... That makes sense. I can see in the dark too, but who knows what kind of eldritch dark is there?

We'll probably find out.

If you are collecting supplies, you should bring food, water, emergency medical supplies, and at least one blanket as well. If the ground shifts and you're trapped by a collapse, it may be some time before a rescue party can reach you.

I'm bringing water. I'm not worried about the ground collapsing... I can move about six hundred and fifty pounds, so it'll have to take a pretty serious collapse.

Then again just by saying that I'm probably tempting fate. But the medical supplies is a good idea, because I can heal myself but not other people.

A collapse could easily exceed that weight, if I am not off in my conversion. You may not need supplies, but it is better to have them and not need them than the other way around.

That's... fair. I'll see what I can grab.

I was going to retreat into Liminal Space if the ground collapsed.

Although, since Liminal Space seems unreliable right now...

Food, water, medical supplies, and a blanket?

That was my reasoning - Liminal Space is uncertain, and I would not suggest relying too strongly on other kinds of portal, in case the disruption progresses.

And yes, those are the bare necessities, when combined with the equipment you were already planning to bring. If you can find one, a form of communication that can reliably reach the surface might be a good addition, in case the network fails entirely.
