I do not recall the tower, just the mountains - and the sense that there should be far more people here than merely the humans. Perhaps we had different focuses the last time we were here?

Probably? I only remember one repeat, and the previous visit was totally different from the second.

It's all a haze for me, but that tower was definitely not there before. The city is familiar enough to me... I think I was a human, last time...

Yes, it was the Yensid Castle, and that tower was not a part of the castle at all.
