To all those who need a drink
If anyone needs a break from the Jaunt and a drink on top, there is a bar in Liminal where you can do both. I'd show you pictures if I could, but you'll just have to believe me that it exists and is rather fancy - if anyone with sensory livestreaming wants to come over and show the place off to the network, you're welcome.
For all those that can't do portals themselves, I can do a shuttle thing every six hours, so hit me up or ask someone else who can do portals. ...I'm also happy to teach the ability to create stationary portals to and from Liminal Space to those who wish to learn.
There's all sorts of alcohol here, though I'll need feedback on how good it is, and you can of course make your own if you have the skills.
Just look for the automatic sliding doors made of glass saying "Bar". You can't really miss it.
...Also, if someone could teach me how to turn this room permanent, that'd be useful for everyone, I think.

[He looks around a couple moment before turning back to Malin, offering a hand.]
I'm Armin.
no subject
Armin. Well, then. Melissa did warn her, so at least she knows what kind of person she's dealing with. Someone who needs to be regarded with as much caution as a vampire Elder, with the political prowess and psychic skill-set, and the very mindset to guide both, that makes them such fragile ground to thread around for someone like her.
A pawn. She doubts she'll ever be more, but she certainly isn't more than that now, as much as she would like it to be otherwise, as much as she would like to transcend that status, ...and that makes her wary of everyone whom she regards as a player.
Her handshake is firm and just a bit too cool to the touch even for stonefolk, and she gives him a brief smile before nodding over at the counter.]
It's good to meet you.
I can get you a water, but would you like some aspirin with that? ...If that even works on stonefolk. [Maybe not. They have many things in common with humans, but probably not enough.]
no subject
Aspirin won't help with this kind of headache, I'm afraid.
[On the other hand, the oddities about her don't slip his notice - at the coolness of the touch, he looks instinctively to check whether or not she's breathing, and immediately notices that she is not. He tilts his head to the side - curious, but not concerned.] Are you a vampire? [He does lower his voice courteously, so no one else will hear his question.]
no subject
[And the question makes her look at him sharply, not so much in alert about him having figured it out - it's not a secret here, though she does prefer to keep people unawares if it can be done through simply not mentioning it - but because how quickly he did it with such certainty very much supports how the things she heard about him made her view him.
She simply nods in response to the question, in the end. It is a yes-or-no one, after all, and she is not inclined on offering more information than necessary to him.] Does that mean that people similar to us exist where you're from, or have you simply made closer acquaintance with Thorne and Melissa?
no subject
[Which is certainly a mild way of saying an elder god mentally tortured him before ripping his mind apart, but that's not something he likes to get into. He's still piecing some of his memories back together, and - like now - sometimes has difficulty remembering which memories are the real ones.]
Vampires don't exist in my world. But Thorne was my sister, in a jaunt. We've been close. And Melissa... well, we're acquainted, anyway. [He literally doesn't have the words to describe his relationship with Melissa.]
no subject
For now, though, she's just going to hand him a glass of water.] Here.
Me, Thorne and Melissa are from comparable worlds. [So while they aren't the same type of character, there are enough similarities between them to set them apart from other types of vampire legends.
As in, they don't sparkle and don't rip people's throats out to get to their blood, and can cross running water. And such.]
no subject
He takes the glass of water, nodding in thanks.] Interesting, that you'd be our only known vampires among the Travelers, and that your worlds would be so close.
[Given that so many of their worlds are so different, anyway, and there are so many versions of vampires people know about. That's all he says about it, though - he'll continue the conversation if she does, but he doesn't push, or question her further about what she is or what she can do.]
no subject
Well, they do seem to like picking one place and then bringing in multiple people from it, don't they? Maybe in our case it's just "that type of world" instead of "one group of people who know each other".

Sorry, the recent DW-issues with the login seem to slow down LJ-juggler resulting in log-in fails
Yes, but they are the players and we are their game pieces. I would not be surprised if they don't tell us everything, or if Fortune thought the game would be more interesting if people were brought in with existing loyalties and aversions to other game pieces.
No worries
It is possible they simply thought it would be more interesting this way. Or that they wanted to test or probe our loyalties, to see how far they can be strained, as they attempt to learn more about mortals.
Either way, it's always been obvious the selection process isn't truly random - but it has, so far, defied analysis. And do I still try to note the oddities - it may be unlikely we'll figure out much speculating like this, but it's not impossible.
no subject
[She shrugs and then turns to the room before them.]
You said you could livestream this place to the network?
no subject
no subject
...That'll take longer than a minute. [Hm.] Well, a good look of the room, a walk over and down into the cellar and an impression of the stock there, and then back up and over to the counters, finishing with a closer look at what drinks are being offered?
no subject
[If she knows anything about the network, she'll know what he's casually suggesting isn't easy, or something just anyone could do.]

All the while and as long as he stays in the bar, she'll watch Armin carefully. Not because she thinks that he'll try anything sketchy, but because the more the see, the more you know.]
