I didn't get any confessions. But I did get a funny card in my locker. I think everyone did.

Oh, and Monkey talks now. And I can make light, which is funny, because I'm a tiefling and we're only supposed to make dark. This place is really awesome.

I'm fine, gods. It's not exactly the first time I've died, though it was the most embarrassing. Mostly I just felt like an idiot for letting it happen. Sabetha did it, you know, and we were something like best friends in that place. Or something.

Well, remembering that you come back again helps a lot. I mean, dying's pretty awful, sure, but it's not exactly the end. Back home it was resurrection spells and such, but here it's Trumps wanting us to keep fighting the good fight and all that.

[There's the sense of a shrug to her mental voice.]

I think that's more reliable than hoping one of your friends decides you're worth a spell like that, anyway.

Um-- if it's alright to ask, what was on the card..? Or was it too personal?

Oh, it wasn't personal at all. I'm pretty sure it was just kind of random, people dropping notes in lockers without knowing. Mine said something like "make all your single friends jealous this Valentine's day!" Which, you know, kind of silly, since I don't exactly have anybody like that. So not personal at all.

Maybe they were trying to encourage you to find a date then..! Although, um, from what I've heard I thought this "Valentine's Day" was already over.. but I guess it's not as if you can't find happiness like that all year round.

I doubt it. I still don't think very many people here know my name, much less my single status.

... though I guess they might know that more. Have you seen how obsessed people here are about the whole love and cuddles thing?

I heard some people talking about it, but I didn't think it was more than the usual.. [ It's mostly just since she's with her head in the love-love clouds thanks to the wedding too though. ]

Oh, it's more than usual. I mean, I never actually went to a school like this, or anything, but this is just crazy, how obsessed these people are. It's kind of cute, actually, but still. Crazy.

It must be since they keep talking about that one thing though, um.. what was it..

Oh, Valentine's Day, that is it! It seems to be a celebration dedicated to love, so of course they'd be busy with it around that time of year, right..?

That already happened, though. I think it's something to do with all the magic everyone can do. Like it's connected to emotions or love or something-- a whole lot of it sure seems to have to do with pairing up, or learning about how to pair up.

Hmm, I saw a lot of that magic with hearts, or.. strange.. [ ... ] I think they were meters?

[ It's weird, okay. Chizuru comes from otome dating hell back home, yes, but she's never actually seen this stuff in person!! ]

Although mine manifests as cherry blossom petals.. I'm not too sure what that has to do with love.

Maybe it's just pretty. I mean, I made glass and sparkles, that's not exactly lovey-dovey, either. Well, and Monkey talks now, like I said. That's gotta be some kind of magic, too, but I don't think I have a lot of control over that.

I saw Lady talking too. [ And they're sort of the same, right? Maybe this Jaunt also makes everyone's animal companions talk for.. some reason. The same reason that's making sakura petals and god knows what else spawn out of nowhere, apparently. ]

That doesn't really have to do with love or even prettiness either.. somehow this Jaunt feels a little complicated, even if it's not as dangerous as before.

[ More like Chizuru has never experienced high school before, let alone modern day Japan. ]
