Speaking of future visions
Does anyone know of a dark-skinned and horned people in any of the Jaunt worlds we have been to? As Messire Kuzunoha did the night previous, I too have had another prophetic nightmare, such as we had in Harrogate.
'Twas of a battle near a shadowed volcano--and then it changed quite suddenly to the dark, horned person lying on a rocky floor, somewhere in which the light was much better.

make that Protection II into infinity
While we're on the topic, most of what Armin-san got into at the salon isn't to my interests, but I could probably help you reverse-engineer some of it, if you'd like.
Re: make that Protection II into infinity
I saw a vision of being at a liminal ball to come. Perhaps next year or even later than that. At any rate, I had done something to allow me to designate a spot to sink a part of my mind into and listen to what was being said there, despite dancing much too far from that spot to naturally hear it.

Huh. That does sound like an interesting trick. [Useful... not to Naoki specifically, but that's more due to his own hangups about using the network to spy on people.]

If it's purely psychic... it might be some offshoot of the mind palace stuff I haven't come across yet. But I don't think we can rule out the possibility of it needing some liminal components, too.
no subject
Well and so. At least I can construct mind palaces.
no subject
Try prodding at it from the mind-palace angle and see if that gets you anywhere, maybe? If it doesn't, you might need to create whatever it is you're using to monitor the area yourself.

If it is hybrid, mayhap it is related to the theoretical implantation of ideas in Liminal Space.

[Never let it be said that Naoki is completely above trolling people sometimes.]

All the best reasons. Liminal Clairvoyance it is.
[See, this is why he's honestly growing to like you, Konishi, besides just as someone to complain about people you mutually don't like and someone to help him learn the Network better.]

While it doesn't sound like something that'd need mind-reading stuff to get to, I wonder if it'd be subject to the same blocks or ways to find you out.
no subject
Hm. I wonder if one would need the ability to create rooms. Even if one would not, it would be quite easy to use the skills in tandem, so that the entirety of the created room might be overheard.
no subject
Relatedly, he really needs to ask Naoto how that intrusion ping thing works.]
You probably could, but that would be a lot of extra information to process, compared to focusing on one spot in the room.

There's also the chance that spreading it so thin it covers an entire large room would net you a lot of background noise and nothing actually useful.
no subject
Mayhap. Again, we shall have to experiment.
no subject
[That level of stress test might take more than one person, though.]

[It is some time later when he adds,]
I have an idea of another ability that may be related. Do you remember how Armin Arlert placed his mind inside the network when his body was destroyed in a way that the Arcana could not remake him until the Jaunt was over? Perhaps this is related to that.
no subject
...I don't remember that, so presumably it was during Harrogate. [He hasn't been able to bring himself to do that particular archive-dive so far, and he's not sure he ever will.]
You might be on to something there, whether this turns out to need liminal components or not.
no subject
... it is not that I am ungrateful that he did, mind. It is only that it doesn't change the fact that he was still a fool to go alone--and that it broke Alcuin's heart when he thought Armin was dead.
no subject
He tells me to disregard his friend's choice to be de-infiltrated if they were separated for that jaunt and then he pulls that stunt?
