Saw a forest full a' ponds all glitterin' like different colour jewels an' givin' off mist. An' they just started... boilin' up. 'til there weren't nothin' left but clouds a' dust in the air, left 'em bone dry.

Didn't feel like there was anythin' could be done t'stop it... [And that had been the worst part, honestly.]

That sounds like the spirit oasis... or a lot of spirit oases.

[For someone who had hated Questing Country as much as Raidou had, he certainly remembers a lot about it.]

A spirit oasis is essentially the birthplace of the spirit companions that guide Champions, Oracles, or Adversaries while they're in Questing Country.

So. No more oasis might could mean no more Champions, if they ain't got that someone t'set 'em on the right path.
