Open to All Investigators-Beginning of Digital Frontier Jaunt

For those who are experiencing this for the first time, don't worry. Just keep calm and listen to this message.

If you're hearing this, you're what we call an investigator: someone who retains their memories from their home and other worlds if they have them while in a Jaunt. Some of us have blended in with the setting and are called Infiltrators; don't try and jog their memory back otherwise we'll be in a lot of trouble. They also cannot use the network we're on right now.

What we need to know now is who's not thinking they're a program and what they have noticed so far. Anything will help us try and figure out a way to solve this next issue.

Who's worrying?

[ New voice in the mix, and he sounds equal parts confident and disdainful. And like he belongs in elementary school, instead. ]

The reds are definitely some kind of local police force, called Defenders. Blues are Miners. The assumption being they're digging for something.

You'd be surprised.

Something? How did they sound when that was mentioned?

They didn't. Defenders defend, Miners mine.

[ Duh. What would they do, instead? ]

The Miner I'm talking to seems to dislike the Defenders, as well. Could be indicative of a wider sentiment. I think we're in the middle of some class tensions.

[ Class, heh. Like in programming--

(He thinks he's clever.) ]

Great, why am I getting the feeling of a rebellion soon?

Doubt it.

[ Dismissive little brat. ]

People'd rather complain and do nothing than upset the status quo.

[ At least without a rallying point. Just because there's discontent in the ranks doesn't mean they've landed themselves in the middle of a rebellion. Nothing but the usual grumbling of unhappy workers. ]

I wouldn't underestimate the idea. If everything is how we think it is, this world is going to be turned upside down.

It's better to keep digging for now and put the pieces together as we find them.

Considering they found the 'Cryptos', I'd say they found what they were digging for. Thing is, they don't seem too happy about finding them.

[ There's Grayson. Damian figured, with how he'd been flitting about, that he probably wasn't one of the changed ones. Not like Todd.

Cryptos are the green ones, right?

[ Deduction. There's only so many colors present. ]

Not all of them. That woman sounded pretty pleased. 'Greetings, Programs!'

[ The imitation of ROSE's voice is flawless, and entirely sneered. ]

But the reds, however -- military formation, armed. Definitely hostile.

Oh, ROSE? I'm... not too sure what the deal is with her. I thought she was one of us before but she's still her here without remembering Liminal Space. Might want to keep an eye on her.

As for the Defenders, definitely military. Not all are hostile from what I can see but they're not sure what to make of us. Can't really blame them when a bunch of unknown Variables show up out of no where, right?

[ First speaker means ambassador, means position of power, means someone to watch.

(Just like a stake-out, picking out the leaders from the cronies and middlemen. Pssht, he's got this.) ]

True. Hopefully there won't be any incidents. Last thing we need is an itchy trigger finger causing a shoot-out.

One of ours is among them, too. Have you met Red Hood, yet?

Nope, unless you're talking about Mr. Trigger Happy Gun Show? I saw him a little while ago, all done up in red. He's almost as friendly as an infiltrator as he is usual self.

[ Accurate. ]

That's him. He's different from the one I know, but...

[ Angrier. Not exactly the Todd he's familiar with, the one whose temper's cooled and who'll ruffle his hair obnoxiously, catch him when Damian's thrown by an enemy. Not Wingman. ]

My only advice is to keep an eye on the gun. He generally aims for the face or for the feet, no in between.

He goes for kneecaps, doesn't he. He seems like a kneecap kind of guy.

Kneecaps are his favorite.

[ Well, face is the favorite. But Todd likes to stick to kneecaps when he's playing nice. ]

Just don't talk to that one about Batman and it should be fine.
