Open to All Investigators-Beginning of Digital Frontier Jaunt

For those who are experiencing this for the first time, don't worry. Just keep calm and listen to this message.

If you're hearing this, you're what we call an investigator: someone who retains their memories from their home and other worlds if they have them while in a Jaunt. Some of us have blended in with the setting and are called Infiltrators; don't try and jog their memory back otherwise we'll be in a lot of trouble. They also cannot use the network we're on right now.

What we need to know now is who's not thinking they're a program and what they have noticed so far. Anything will help us try and figure out a way to solve this next issue.

It means I can turn into one, when the sun is down. And as I said, the stronger senses of smell and hearing, like a wolf might have, though I believe mine are actually magically enhanced beyond your typical canine.

Well, one of my comrades back home.. he was a Taguel. It means that he was able to change into a more rabbit-like form from time to time. [ It feels like ages since he's even seen Yarne, on top of it, so anything vaguely familiar would already be welcome.. ]

I was wondering if it was anything like that.

Oh, I am entirely a wolf, when I change, at least on the outside. A kind of light brown with a lighter belly. I've never seen a wolf that color, but perhaps being magical in nature has something to do with it.

I do keep my mind, for the most part, I just can't talk. This whole telepathic thing we have is going to be ridiculously useful.

[ .. it does sound a lot like it, huh. What a coincidence, to think other worlds have something like Taguels too.. especially since they're pretty much going extinct in Inigo's. ]

I see-- I have to say I am sort of familiar with the process, then. If anyone mistakes you for a real animal, feel free to call upon me for help. [ God knows it's happened back home with Yarne a few times.. ]

It makes a good disguise, if I need it, to be honest. I'm fairly practiced at coming across as a harmless, shaggy dog. But I do appreciate the offer. If this telepathy thing fails us, I will certainly need allies who can understand what I am.

[He manages to convey a little amusement and gratitude, in there, at least.]

Well, you can never be too sure how desperate people are for food.

[ Inigo, just.. no. Don't even go there with your jokes.. even if it's a very real situation - it's what happens when you end up in a post-apocalyptic world with one of your friends looking like a giant bunny, man. ]

Oh. Well. That could be a problem. Not here, I imagine, as food appears to be very circumscribed, but... elsewhere. Yes. I take your point.

I don't think it would be anyone among the Travellers attempting such a thing, at least. [ Most of them seem pretty reasonable, but some of the generic villagers? Yeah, that's another story entirely.. ]

I'll keep my ears and nose open for locals in the future, then. If all else fails, I can run very fast.
