Hey.

I know most of us have just been tryin' to keep the hell out of the Starquakes' way, but ... been back to doing a bit of investigating them. Well. Some of it's me, but Minako got something big outta it all that I figure people oughta hear.

This ain't natural. The Quakes, all the transformations, whether that's people or places... they're something's way of trying to reach out and grab people. Talk to them, or ... or through 'em, from some of the stuff I've been hearing. Got some stuff from Lupa that sounds like Harbingers are connected to the wills behind it all, and those things are huge.

But ... it's one big question. The thing that's making them happen, or the things... powerful, yeah, but ... they're lonely.

They're askin' who else ... or where else ... is out there.

It's all coming from ... somewhere beyond the rest of Questing Country. Like the cave people have been poking, but that ain't the right spot - good job, huh. Dunno if the thing's even trying to cause as much of a mess as it is, but all these ... these different dreams and layers of dreams, never mind what the hell that rock's doing... it's kind of turning into something like an avalanche. Throw one pebble and the whole damn mountain comes down. That's how it looks to me, anyway.

And it's still making me think about that thing that caused the Tachyon Storm. That big glowy thing. ...Am I right in rememberin' people talking about 'Starmovers'? Or am I gettin' mixed up with other star stuff?

It might. It'll probably take a day or two to recreate the important parts... it's not going to be an elegant patch, but we don't have time for beta testing.

Not so much, no.

You need anything materials-wise?
crouching_sin: (and this is crazy)

I can show you the wires I'll need. I might need to put it on one of your computers to get the amount of processing power necessary for this, too. All I have at hand is a laptop along with my COMPs.

As long as it'll work from Liminal, shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise we can see what else Kanji cooks up, since he's... at least sorta talked to these things before.

It might, or it might not. But I can pull together the code I have. It'll be fairly easy to extract.

Fair enough. Still, we gotta try something, so it's worth a shot.

[personal profile] crouching_sin 2018-02-15 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It is. If you want to look at the code... how familiar are you with summoning rituals?
crouching_sin: (mine is an evil smirk)

[Oh. Right. He got somewhat overexcited.]

Hm... signals. Depending on what you can do, you might be useful.

... Essentially, I'm going to convert emotions into data and transmit them, and the opposite process on the other end. Emotions are much less... subject to translation issues, as it were, than words would be.

Kanji's definitely going to be useful. Besides which, he's the one who's been chasing this stuff up to now.

And for the record, I don't know much about summoning rituals, at least not the kind you probably mean, and even less about doing them via computer.
crouching_sin: (hmph.)

[personal profile] crouching_sin 2018-02-16 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[He's not surprised or disappointed, but there had been a chance, at least.]

Right. I'll just rely on you for the tech end of things. The coding won't make sense to you.

... Though if you could find a sequencer - the kind used for music - that might be helpful.

Maybe. I'll see what's around, or there's a chance someone else listening will have one.

[personal profile] claudiometer 2018-02-16 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably, and that might be the fastest way to get one.

Would you be comfortable helping? It's okay if the answer's no, but two of us might get it together faster.
claudiometer: onna laptop (research-fu: new school)

make that double-protected

[personal profile] claudiometer 2018-02-16 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'd throw you the boost, but I'm not about to make you be the only one doing something you're extremely salty about. That's not fair on you.

We probably don't have time to wait for your boost to recharge, either. If we don't poke these guys soon, Starmovers or something else, they might shake the place apart just by trying to say hi.
claudiometer: saluting (at your service)

[personal profile] claudiometer 2018-02-16 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You know where to find me, in that case.

If you need to rant about it after the fact, you know where to find me for that, too.
crouching_sin: (look to the sky)

[personal profile] crouching_sin 2018-02-16 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Excellent. That definitely will be useful. I'll tell you when I'm ready to begin.
