Resonating in the key of conspiracy

I believe I have a way to identify the, ah, subtler of the Men in Black. And perhaps to counter-infiltrate them.

Those of you familiar with my... dual role... in Questing Country may recall that Nellarin could determine resonant themes in people and phrases. And so can I. Complete with a proper prop for my place in that grand performance.

I can hear the leitmotifs of conspiracy in the Men in Black, if needed, and received a lovely pair of smoked-lensed glasses for my trouble.

What would we need to know to insinuate ourselves into their ranks?

The best way to break into any group, darling is to seem calm, but eager. If you seem too eager, then no one will take you seriously.

Offer assistance, try to get on their good side, and find the moment that they need help.

As someone who worked for a secret agency, if you need any help, I am more than glad to offer it.

Depends on how competent the group is. My crew and I once infiltrated an enemy ship by wearing buckets on our head that just happened to look like their actual faces. They weren't even that well made, either.

Grunts are always the best chance to get morons. Then you just gotta plan for the leaders.

Might be fun to mess with these guys, sounds like.

Unless there's some treasure in it for me, then the flustering's all I got.

Just come talk to good old Agent Zed over here. I can probably vouch for you.

I'm super trustworthy and stuff.

I had a superhero once, he was alright until he went and got himself shot.

I kind of took over for him for a little bit, sort of "came back from the dead," so I'd like to think I at least got some revenge for him.

Right, so we were in England, and a lot of people had powers, and there were spirits and things, and there was a really nasty one called the Manticore that was the power behind the British throne--how sucky a monarch do you have to be to rely on something else to be your muscle--and anyway, we had to kidnap the king and queen because the Arcana had replaced them, it was kind of a wild ride.

I mean, you couldn't have any other kind of ride in the tour bus my overlay had.

Having something to offer rarely goes amiss. Information - or preferably, a credible lie.

Hmm. A risky move, but given it's likely what they're looking for, it's certainly the one with the highest chance of success.

I have attempted to use my Oracular knowledge which I gained in Questing Country to try to discern who they swear allegiance to. Evidently it is an entity known as The Man.

Truly, they are not very good at what they do. You would expect them to have more practice in the art of covertcy.

[He sounds disapproving.]

That would be my theory as well. I have been one such as them in a previous Jaunt and my other-self would be appalled at their incompetency.
