[Hope you're all enjoying your sudden, Liminal Space-filled existences, Travelers. Either way, there's suddenly going to be a very tentative, very timid psychic broadcast.]
Um... excuse me...
[For anyone who met Mai during the Jaunt, she's certainly entirely different now--but then again, that's why she's doing this in the first place, despite being terrified of bothering people in this way. So after a brief pause, she rallies her courage.]
...My name is Mai--um, for the people I didn't know, and I... I was really different in that Jaunt b-but... I just wanted to say that I'm really really sorry!
[There's no visual here--she doesn't have the capability--but even so, it's pretty obvious to anyone who knows her that she's bowing her head here in her shame and apology.]
I did some truly terrible things to everyone, and I...I was really-- [A pause.] Just... I'm very sorry. That's... that's all.
Oh-- um. Near-san... [...what does she even say to him? She's really not sure. After a moment, a really awkward pause, she manages a fumbled thought--] Can we...talk?
[For those who would rather go the action route, Mai is not hard to find; she's tucked against a penny slots machine, arms wrapped around her knees, chin resting on them and eyes downcast. Seems this Jaunt took quite a lot out of her as well, but then again, dying isn't fun for anyone.
There are people she knows she needs to find and check on, but... well, she needs just a moment longer.]

Texas? How long ago was that again? [since she doesn't remember it. even if she's pouting a little because no fair, she wants ice cream too. or bingsu. that would work too.]
no subject
[Mai's face screws up a little as she tries to remember. It's so hard to keep track of time here...]
It was after the ocean Jaunt, but... you weren't back yet.
no subject
Aish... seriously...! Every time you tell me something, it really seems like I missed a lot while I was gone...
no subject
[Not helping, Mai. But at least she's honest.]
There was...really a lot...! And... things keep happening a lot, too. It's a little difficult to keep up, even though I was...there...
Does that make sense?
no subject
[sorry, mai. yoorae's going on a bit of a tangent right now, stomping her foot in annoyance and looking... well... somewhere.]
I knew he was full of it when he said I didn't miss much! Ooh, that jerk...
no subject
[She tilts her head, curious as to who Yoorae's been talking to (and would talk that way about).]
Who told you that, Yoorae-san?
no subject
[yep, that's yoorae. pouting and calling hijikata a jerk.]
no subject
[???]
T-that's... wouldn't he glare at you if you called him something like that?
[THAT'S SCARY]
no subject
[she scrunches her nose, and the way she huffs and puffs up is almost like a small animal of some sort.
the truth is that hijikata would still intimidate the hell out of her, but she knows he's a good guy and probably would just be equally huffy, despite the foul mouth. there's not that much to fear—sure, he's like, killed guys before, but he's a samurai. it's not like he's a serial killer or something, he's not going to just kill her over calling him a jerk.
probably. right? right?]

It's cute.
Mai giggles at the face despite herself, covering her mouth with a hand delicately.]
Y-Yoorae-san, your face...! No, I don't think you're as scary as Hijikata-san at all, but... I'm really glad for that as well.
no subject
Of course I'm not! Even I know I'm too cute for that much. [okay, or maybe that goes out the window. she's definitely a narcissist when she wants to be.]
no subject
You are... and Hijikata-san can be cute a little in his own way, but he's nothing like Yoorae-san's sort of cute.
