Psychic Post - The Newb has some Questions

Ah. Forgive me, I'm afraid I'm a bit new here, but I had some questions and I'm hoping someone might have answers... this seemed the easiest way to seek them out, without having to hunt people down individually. Especially as I don't know very many of you all yet.

I'm Randolph Lyall. Biology teacher from New Jersey. Also werewolf from Victorian England. It's a bit complicated.

But most pressing, I suppose, is that I need to know just how much of these Jaunts stay with us... I remember everything, but I don't seem to be able to do everything. Not that I've tried everything yet, exactly, but certain things are a bit fuzzy. Like the mechanics of having one's faction changed. I understood it implicitly after it happened, but now it's all confusing, like it happened to somebody else. And I could do this intense focus work, KALI called it Constructive Enlightenment, but it's quite gone, now.

Also, someone mentioned lessons in Tarot, and seeing as they seem to be pretty important to all this... I'm definitely going to want those, if they're still available.

Lastly, how did it take me this long to realize we have Leonardo daVinci here?

[The last sounds a little like he should be a teenager saying "oh my god that is so awesome" despite the generally polite and controlled sound of the rest of it.]

Well, ya never know until ya try, right? You could do it once, so there's gotta be something there to start with... and yeah, things were kinda crazy. We were gettin' swarmed with every kinda creep on the Grid. You were probably better off over there.

But on the tarot stuff, I'm just hopin' I can do a good job. Never done somethin' like that before, but this is important...

I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm actually a teacher, and if I knew a damned thing about tarot, I'd offer to help, but as I'm going to be one of your new students, I don't think that would work. Just don't try to be too formal, I suppose. You're talking largely to a group of adults, so it will probably be easier just to explain than to, well, teach exactly.

Explain. Yeah, I can manage that bit.

[There's a hint of a relieved laugh there. And if there's anything he's never been, it's formal.]

I'm kinda thinkin' of going into teaching one day myself. So I've gotta start somewhere!

Oh, yes, then this is a good way to get started. We're all going to be eagerly attentive and rational. What would you like to teach, eventually?

It's probably gonna be somethin' in the arts. But I'm still lookin' to see what suits me.

[More rational than a pack of teenagers, okay. That's Lyall's experience.]

Quite a ways off from my field, then. But teaching methods are pretty much standard no matter what the subject, so if you have any questions, I'd be glad to offer what advice I can. I've been teaching for a decade, now.

And if you want any practice before the big class, I might like take you up on that offer of Constructive Enlightenment. If it was an offer, anyhow.

Sure. Might as well give it a go, huh? I'm gonna be ... huh, there's a side room just off the courtroom lookin' bit that I found, that might work. It's a bit quieter than most'f this place, unless ya count the jails.

Better yet, though, find the paintings with the black marker arrows on them. They lead to Leonardo's workshop, which is much quieter than even that, and much more inviting than the jail cells. I'm already there.
