... Perdonatemi, I have an announcement.

I am not sure anyone else is aware of this, but the payphone by the door can connect to the Trumps. Or at least, when I attempted to call a Trump, it went through. I am not sure if all the Trumps are available for a call or not. I have heard some of them are dead, so they are likely not, at least. In truth, I am not really sure why they are allowing us to speak to them, now. We should all proceed with caution.

Further... if anyone has information on any of the Trumps that appeared this past Jaunt - The Magician, going by ROSE; The Hermit, going by SAGE; and The Devil - please, share it. I am not well versed in the mystical meanings behind the Tarot, only the cards and their numbers. The Magician is one, The Hermit nine, and the Devil fifteen. While I cannot say I know much about The Hermit, I am aware of many aspects of SAGE, as I was a Crypto this past Jaunt. I... I can tell you what little I know about him, if it would help.

... lastly, if anyone was Marked and feels comfortable coming forward with that information, I would be much obliged to hear it. Private or public, it does not concern me; I shall not come forward with that information unless you are comfortable providing it publicly. With so many Trumps amongst us, I cannot believe any of them would leave empty-handed, as it were.

I know most of the basic meanings for the major arcana - esoteric symbology was popular with a certain subset of hackers and fringe nutjobs back home. Someone should maybe keep a list of who's been marked - or at this point, who hasn't.

One of the trumps called SAGE a criminal, and that his execution was within the rules. And that the excursions were 'sanctioned'.

And their criteria may not necessarily be the obvious, based on the symbolism of their titles. Still - it bears considering. Particularly if whatever rules govern them also restrict how many of us any individual one of them can claim.

Frankly, I'd rather it happen because of something I do when I know myself than stumble into it blindly while I'm infiltrating. Just because I fit someone's specifications then doesn't mean I would later. Besides, making a phone call doesn't guarantee an answer, or that anything would come of the conversation.

...huh. A couple people who were corrupted and derezzed said, when they came back, that the Automata's goal was to keep the Cryptos - and probably also SAGE - trapped on the Grid. Why they thought you guys were so bad, I don't know, and Green Team wasn't exactly sharing its secrets. I wouldn't be surprised if SAGE never intended to leave in the first place.

For starters, we were in some place called the Grid. Not false advertising; the whole place was gridded like a game of Battleship. Completely with graphic coordinates to identify each sector. I10 was where this place called The I/O Tower could be found. When you went inside, you could speak to the Users specifically. Only these so-called Users...I'm pretty sure they were Trumps. As in Plural.

Apology accepted. [ And with that amusement out of the way, business. ]

I only talked to one of them in person, and that was The Devil. He was the one who'd told me to fix the Tower in the first place. The only reason I listened was because I was under the control of something called Automata Corruption. It sucked.

That must have been the Devil. It seems the Magician and the Devil were... at odds with each other, over The Hermit's fate.

She must have been one of the voices that spoke to me in the Tower. It's the only thing that makes sense.
