[Walkabout] Slammers and bonds

[Maybe he should have talked about this earlier or maybe he shouldn't talk about this at all... but he will.]

Last time we were here, the natives - both human and Pogemon - had the knowledge of humans being able to become 'Slammers'. Since this is the first time humans arrived to the Pogemon world it's only natural for the concept to not exists in their minds.

[At least they shouldn't have, but he moves with the assumption that it's something they will discover together later on.]

Pogemons and Slammers share a bond. It's more intense than True Bond from Questing Country and it gives you the ability to call your Pogemon friend from danger by returning them to a hockey puck form. You can feel what the other feels and even feel their physical pain... and just generally know where they are. All sort of convenient and not so convenient things.

[It's the tone of experience.]

We, me and Mikasa that is, managed to form one, despite the world lacking in the knowledge. She just asked me to become her Slammer and I accepted. So far, I seem to have three different bonds. Not sure what the limit truly is.

Just thought I'd let anyone who wasn't here before know in case they wanted to bond. Or in case a native Pogemon does know the concept and asks you to be their Slammer... think about it for a second.

Oh!

Well that explains a lot.

[She doesn't sound unhappy just curious]

... It does. It happened accidentally.

[Sorry for the headaches, Q'uila.]

Seems like it. I'm not complaining, now I can talk to Alice and have some intelligent conversation.

[Headaches in return for constant sass. Seems like a fair trade]
crouching_sin: (so call me maybe?)

[It's a pretty good trade.]

What she's saying is that she can understand the dragon that followed me home through our bond.

Well... not exactly. But she can make herself known as well as anyone else by using colors. I've... learned to translate.

Really? So you have been translating for my when she talks to me?
crouching_sin: (calm and thoughtful)

A little bit, yes. It's sort of half and half, I think.

Huh, I did not notice...

Oh, how different.

[Her voice turns curious]

I wonder if Ratatoskr would be able to teach Alice Draconic, the language dragons use back home

I was curious, is the bond limited by physical distance?

I'm assuming it only works if those bonded are on the same plane...
