So I just had an idea that would really cramp the enemy's style in any hypothetical showdowns that may or may not still happen.

Who wants to give Erebus the biggest collection of laser pointers this side of Jupiter? Anyone who's up for downloading a trick from the later timeline's last jaunt can join in, and frankly the more of us hit 'em, the better it'll probably work. Their own damn fault for over-relying on one kind of weaponry.

They're not actually strong enough to do any damage, just make a dot somewhere else. We'd leave 'em the bane of cats everywhere, but not able to hurt anyone.

When I say 'download,' I mean it literally. Our last jaunt was inside a computer, so passing the cool stuff on requires a direct transfer of information. Once you have it, you can take what a thing is and make it slightly more or slightly less of that thing, playing off what it's similar or dissimilar to.

Via physical contact, which is another trick in and of itself, but I don't think it's necessary to actually run the program. As long as I can pass it along to you, you should be good to go.

Depending on how their paraphernalia is stored, freezing it solid or melting it to slag are also possible choices, although the usefulness of that depends on how quickly they could get replacements.

Hmm. Freezing would be better served if we can find out when they might make a move. Otherwise the ice'll just melt and probably not slow them down at all.

Melting's not a bad option, though. Neither is frying circuitry so it won't work.

I don't know; a single Bufudyne spell can generate a sizable amount of ice.

I don't doubt that, but sooner or later ice melts. If it's 'sooner,' or they make it 'sooner,' then it's not as detrimental as we'd like it to be.

Melting might also be an issue, though, depending on what kinds of anti-fire safeguards they've got.

...Idea. Save the elemental damage for their stockpile back in the city, if we can find it. Wherever they've set up shop in the smaller towns, it's probably somewhere the locals can't afford to go without, and they'll want to replace their laser pointers if they can.

...Of course, that does raise the possibility of them taking that out on the settlers later.
