While most here know these things, there are a number of new faces amongst us and some things bear repeating.

Traveling often involves meeting people from both different worlds than our own and different time periods as well. A friend may not recognize you and an enemy may not be what they become.

This leads us to the only agreed upon rule of the Travellers:

Do not kill one another.

[A pause]

I would also like to request that anyone with ideas of doing things in the two worlds through the portals first consult with someone who was already there. Situations were delicate in some places and altering what occurred may negatively impact the positive outcomes we achieved.

Nonlinear time is complicated and ridiculous.

Food and living quarters are available in various locations for those who require it.

The easiest explanation is that I am a Traveler and so are you.

Magic tends to be completely different things.

Yes, Travelers are what those of us who are pawns in the Arcana's Game are called. We are gathered up from our worlds and dumped in to others because it is how the rules of their contest work.

We do the physically and mentally demanding parts and they, theoretically, get control of the universe out of it.

Obviously, i have my own opinions on this and there are others who have their own as well. If you want to form a well rounded one i suggest asking about.

So. You're suggesting we've all been press-ganged onto another plane of existence by mysterious beings battling for the universe? I'm not saying I don't believe it, actually, that was one of the two big possibilities I was considering, I'm just checking to be sure I've got it right because it seems like a pretty important detail.

Some of my best friends are non-human people, that doesn't bother me at all.

The drink, though, that I am definitely interested in following up on, if you could beam directions into my brain or however you do it in these parts.

The doors that stand in liminal space, where you found yourself upon arrival, lead to different rooms that various Travelers have created.

The metal and glass one leads to the permanent bar. There is wine, beer and liquor available free of charge.

The other is not always present, but if you ask the young man named Naoki he is the one who can give access.

When it comes to locations, I am a fan of object permanence, so I'll go with that one. Free of charge is even better.

They're not going to heave me out for being some kind of a dirty bum, are they? Just to be sure. I'm not the most presentable, you understand.

It is a public space, and the creator is no longer among us.

If you want to bathe or get new clothing there are facilities in the workshop and i am sure someone can provide something to your tastes.

The rule's not to fight other Travelers. Not killing one another is the second rule in case someone doesn't follow the first. You can and should fight in self-defense, but don't put the person attacking you in The Floor if you have any choice about it.

I'm avoiding the portal to January, but I went through the other before I realized what they were. If you need someone to fill you in on the current situation in space you can talk to me.

I've always found the verb tenses particularly maddening.

Do you know enough about what happened to be able to pick out what's likely a fixed point and what's in flux?

Unless someone is willing to lead and enforce a no fighting rule, it is a moot point.

There are codexes in the library detailing the events of both jaunts as we experienced them.

I doubt the Arcana believe in anything having a fixed outcome anyway.

It's still worth saying it for the people that will listen. And it's probably better for it to come from someone that can tell them why it's the rule if someone asks.

I'm... avoiding January. [The way he says it strongly suggests it's for personal reasons, rather than an attempt to avoid impacting the Jaunt's outcome.] Do you need the information from space, or do you know what's going on there already?
