Er.... hello? Excuse me? I'm not entirely sure how to go about this. I hope I'm doing it properly!

Is there anyone that would be able to help me to make a dress? Nothing too complicated! But, ah, I've only just gotten here and I'm not sure how to make things, yet.

I would like to learn! I'm sure that I could pick it up with time, but... yes, this is for something special. And we want to do it soon.

Do you have an idea of what you'd like? If not, there are some truly remarkable artists here who could help you with design.

Not... not particularly. Fashion isn't really a specialty of mine. I don't know that I'd want to bother an artist about this...

Is it more difficult to make something that's fancier? I've been told it's more difficult to make things that are real and permanent, but I'm not clear on complexity.

Not exactly - not when you have a solid grounding in the technique. Even fancy clothing is clothing, at the root of things. But it helps to have a clear idea of what you're trying to create.

Clothes are clothes, I suppose... but wouldn't there be a difference between a simple shirt and a wedding dress?

In form and in importance, certainly! But not in difficulty - creating something in Liminal Space is less like constructing it, and more like willing it into being. Difficulty comes from moving parts, and the level of understanding you have of the thing you're trying to create - the more you have to keep straight in your mind, the harder it is to do it correctly.

So it's more about being able to picture it clearly? Or, at least, part of the process is? As long as I ask for help from someone experienced, it won't be too much of an imposition?

Exactly so. And most wouldn't consider it an imposition at all. We've all needed help from time to time, and it's nice to be able to do something that will make someone happy.

I'll have to be sure to help out in the future, then. To keep things even.

No, it's quite uncommon. But we'd pull together to help even if it wasn't - we're used to working together, and to helping new Travelers who haven't had a chance to learn the ropes yet.

Ah! It's good to know that people will work together here! I'd hate to be caught up in this, and have everyone arguing and being at odds with each other.

Oh, that still happens with some frequency. But we can usually pull together when it counts.
