Nightmares... [Jaunt Week 4]

[It's a good thing that the network is pretty devoid of emotion right now, or else people would definitely be able to tell that Casper's tone is way flatter than it usually is.]

I've been having nightmares about this place - someone surrendering, kneeling, and exploding into glass. I was made of glass, too, and there were crows stealing bits of me.

The theater was exploding with glass tornadoes, and the tornadoes kept going over the entire campus until everything was consumed. They didn't look like they were going to stop.

I don't really... know what's going on with all the glass. I've been kind of busy with other things... if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Safe bet it has something to do with the murderous ghost who crashed the rescue party last week.

On that note, if you decide to go skipping through Elsewhere and find yourself at the site of a watery car crash, get out before that thing comes back.

Enforced radio silence. We couldn't have called for backup even if we knew there was a ghostbuster.

...Another ghostbuster. The fencing instructor seemed pretty clued in.

But maybe you can still help. Since you're sharing with the class, I'm guessing these nightmares of yours are something more than just your subconscious playing nasty?

Figured it was something like that.

Before I got separated from the party, our spectral friend made a few demands in exchange for not continuing to try to flay everyone. One of them was the retrieval of a bunch of glass from the crows. I'm not an expert at interpreting dreams, but there's a pretty good chance that glass is going to be the key to preventing those storms of yours, one way or another.

I can cover the tracking.

You want to come, I'm not going to say no to having someone along who can punch ghosts and hold the map, but we might do better to split our efforts. How are you at research?

Might be worth hitting the library to see if you can dig up information on how the locals lay their unquiet dead to rest. If you know ghosts, you're more likely to be able to sort the signal from the noise than the rest of us, and there's no guarantee things here work the same as they do elsewhere.

...Small-e elsewhere, not the proper noun.

It probably says something about my life so far that my first thought is to ask which one, huh?

Comparative mythology of the multiverse would probably make an interesting line of study for someone someday.

I'd say it couldn't hurt, but that's probably tempting fate. At least it would be a fun way to get in trouble.
