[Psychic Bridge I] Jaunt -> Walkabout

Hey guys. Yosuke here, live from the Jaunt. I wanted to check in and see how you were doing over there? Or well, check if we had a walkabout, you know. Sadly, I don't have the ability to bring anyone with me, so it's just me, but I can tell anything you want to the people who I can on this side.

We're definitely doing movies. So far, everything's been going according to plan. What are you guys up to?

Anyway, we're in some kind of inn? It looks like it's out of a fantasy game. There's... I don't know. I feel a little uneasy, but maybe it's just because this place is kind of crowded.

Hey, it's been at least a few days since the start already.

Huh... is there just an inn?

... It's been like maybe six hours?

And yeah, as far as I can tell.

I guess we're in a time difference mess. Figures. Good news is, you only need to be there for some days while we get weeks.

So hopefully nothing too bad happens.

... Pretty sure there's a ghost around, but I'm not worried. I'm used to dealing with those.

I think so. Though from glimpses I'm not sure if it's a guy... might be a girl. I don't want to scare anyone off, though.

Eh, it's probably not either at this point anymore. Things that attach to hosts lose their own sense of identity pretty quickly if they don't have anything to ground themselves with.

... Are we talking about the same ghost? I saw one up in the rafters and it seemed pretty humanlike. I've known a lot of ghosts that have their own identity...

... I haven't seen any in the rafters, but there's one following some big dude around, he's fully aware of her. I think they're father and daughter.

N-no, I was referring to this one necromantic thing latching on to one of the people staying at the inn.

[His 'voice' trails off, and when it returns there's a hard note to it.]

I need to take a look at that. Can't believe I missed it...

I mean, it's literally my job to notice illegal use of necromancy, so I'm not gonna fault you. Plus, y'know, professional interest.

Seems like it was the accountant guy sitting in the lounge - he's got pretty telltale signs of necrotic decay. Probably late-stage, if the lich doesn't leave him soon then he'll be dead in half a week, and that's generous.

... You're the only lich I've dealt with, but dragging souls who won't go to the underworld is my job at home. Part of it, at least.

I'll have to go look for him... I think I got too excited about the cool fantasy inn.

It is a pretty nice inn. I've seen some like it back on the world I've been living on before this, but this place is very nice.

Now your side is starting to sound like a haunted inn mystery.

I think that's not inaccurate, actually.

So far we know that we arrived to a road in the middle of nowhere, saw some smoke nearby and arrived to an inn when we went to take a closer look at where that is coming from.

Mamoru Chiba is infiltrating as he welcomed us as the innkeeper and at least one of the people here seems like he is really not okay -- him, not Mamoru I mean since he was fine -- but nothing has really happened yet and maybe he's just ... weird. Doesn't really feel like a vacation either though but too early to say much.

I waited a few days on purpose. Maybe I should have waited for a week. This is my first time doing this so I don't know when to do.

[He'll get it right one day.]

So he's there. I noticed Usagi's infiltrating over here but didn't notice him. Good to know.

Are they ill?

[There's your answer.] But in normal time cases a few days sounds fine, I think, I wouldn't know when these usually happens as this is the first time when I hear--

No, it's been-- ... wait this has happened before, hasn't it. One side has only a few days in their world while the other has the usual full time. Huh.

I haven't seen a dog with her, no. There aren't very many animals around. Not saying she's not here at all. I haven't been to her apartment.

Hopefully it's nothing infectious.

I wouldn't know, I haven't been here whenever this has happened before, so must have been somewhere between my leaving and returning. [but somehow it makes sense and explains the confusion too!]

Is there any way you could ask her? Or somehow go anywhere near her apartment to check? [Weiss, holy shit, she's not even your puppy!]

It better not be anything contagious, he's been spending time in the common room with everyone around.

And you didn't think telling us about the lich thing whatever it is anywhere else?! Sure, tell it to the jaunt side and see if they can help you with it in a place where we might hear about it too instead of... Oh I don't know, telling us first??!! And by us I mean fellow investigators on this side, who'd probably like to know about something like ... that as soon as you found out. [Okay, he's telling both sides at the same time but that's not the point!]

I do agree with Weiss though. Tell about it to everyone investigating just in case something does go wrong.
