I'd take the remote approach if 1950s computers weren't utterly hopeless, but I doubt there's one here to begin with, never mind one full of pertinent details. We're gonna have to do this the old-fashioned way.

Espionage aside, I thought you guys might want to help noodle out a thing, network-fu-wise. There has to be more we can do with Naoto's intrusion pings than just 'reflect the intrusion back at the intruder,' but I'm not sure where to start.

You know I’m in. I can get us through any tumbler lock, and most simple combination safes. We probably won’t have to worry about electronic locks here, at least.

Sounds like a plan. I can whip up some work-grade gloves no problem - we almost certainly won't need them for the protection-from-Artifacts factor, but better safe than sorry, and they'll still keep prints out of places we don't want 'em to be.

The only photographer I know isn't here, far as I can tell. I can make a camera that'll blend in no problem... developing the film might be trickier. [Curse you, digital age. Also being too early for efficient Polaroids.]

Well, the good news is the pings are pretty simple. They'd have to be, Naoto came up with it and she pretty much avoided the network.

It's not easy to test unless you think you can get someone to pry in your general direction to see if you can spot it, but.

It's something I've been fiddling with. The same way people feel a certain way on the network, I think different actions might ripple through in a distinct way.

And I mean, if it could spot an intrusion, it could probably spot something other than an intrusion.

It almost needs unfocusing, to look a the network as just the network, not the information in it.

Exactly. The network moves a different way for every skill. There's a signature so you could tell if someone's trying to invade filters or just share their senses.

If I can manage a transformation, I can probably come along as well, but I don't know how my overlay would take that particular memory, assuming he remembers it. I did keep my more mundane disguise abilities from Nova Venezia, but...

She can pass for human if she needs to be visible for any reason, but she occasionally forgets to actually walk rather than float.

We should be fine as long as the locals don't spot her, and that doesn't seem too likely if there's not much magic here to speak of.

And her Inspect spell takes very little actual magnetite to use - I never felt a drain even at my weakest. So that should be fine as well.
