Week 2, the morning after the summoning

[Exasperation. And anger at the stupidity he's about ready to mention:]

A group of idiots just managed to summon the Genius of the Entire Atlantic Ocean, whom promptly escaped their attempts to contain him and possessed their leader. The Crown Prince and the Princess were also both present--and the genius is amenable to not murdering everyone. Even deciding to bide his time to decide which one of them he may decide to support in their fight for the throne.

Even though he seems amenable enough, he can surround you with water and drown you where you stand, so don't try his considerable patience by being a prat.

It's not too hard, no. Think of it as slightly advanced Liminal Manipulation.

Just with water instead of ectoplasm?

Yeah. Also elementalisms in general do make you exhausted pretty quickly if you're not careful. That's a major difference.

Does your own endurance affect how quickly that happens?

It does, at least a bit. Testing how long it takes for you to feel the exhaustion is important... But it can also work as a good practice to improve it.

What kinds of limits are there besides that?

[There have to be some, right?]

Well, it's not infinite, of course. I don't know the exact numbers, but controlling an entire ocean by yourself isn't going to happen.

There's a limit to how far and fast you can send water to as well.

So you'd need a reasonably sized source of water... How far or fast can you move it?

The fun thing is that you can actually create your own water if there's no other sources.

The speed we tested was up to 75 mph, and distances up to 100 feet.

Was it different in the different regions of Bando?

Yeah. I've yet to test the limits on that one.

I think one area added speed and reduced the amount you can manipulate to the ability, and vice versa for the other. Nakamiyo, the one I learned, was the balance between.

Like the weaponry - that varied from region to region, too.

Exactly. I'm not sure if I can teach anything but the Nakamiyo style though.

I wonder if it would be possible to figure out the other styles through that one. Probably not the same element, though.

[That might make for a little too much confusion at a time when you really don't want any.]

Probably. I've been satisfied enough with what I know so I haven't tried.

I haven't really done very much with magic, outside of Cantrips and the like.

I've done quite a bit... Which is funny, since there's none back home.

There's nothing like that where I'm from, either.

There are far more magic-less worlds than I would have thought.

With the worlds we're sent to, it's hard to tell if those are more typical than magic worlds or not anymore.

[Not that Cassandra had known there were other worlds of any kind when she'd first been brought to Liminal Space...]

Yeah. It's hard to keep track with all the Traveling done.

Yes, even with all the return visits.

It's also pretty hard to determine what counts as magic in each world. There isn't really a set rule to what such thing means.

Though recently I feel like we've been to a lot of magical ones, when you don't count Vineland. That was mundane as hell.
