Because there is a crisis as to who gets the throne and I assumed we didn't want one of this world's major powers fucking up everything?

Excuse me if I didn't want other people to have to deal with that on top of everything else. I assumed we wanted to find this outcome fairly rather than who held the most power.

There were other ways to deal with that. Other ways that didn't include angering the whole ocean.

You could have tried to talk to the ocean like some others had and not with a "leave or else" way. Ever heard of diplomacy?

I suppose someone who can hold portals at length might see about draining it into our local ocean.

If you mean the trick where you stare at a portal and it doesn't go away, yeah, I can do that if necessary.

Ah. I just missed it, then. I first came here just after Rome, then fell into a dungeon before my first Jaunt.

Mm. Well, I was not in what I believe you future people call 'a very good place' when it happened. That is, in terms of my thoughts and such. I had died directly before coming to here and suffered some unwelcome revelations from my family during that long period before the Jaunt.

Technically I'm actually from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, not the future, so my slang's different too.

Family's definitely complicated enough for a dungeon. I've been there.

Films did not exist in my time, but I will admit to having viewed quite a few since coming here, including three that began with that phrase. Those were about your grandparents, I presume?

And anyway, he said he was mostly worried about his descendent and making sure he was ok. I don’t think that’s a good reason to attack him.

Either he's not as nice as you think or someone wanted a quick solution to him being here.

Yeah. He said his descendent helped summon him but he wasn't feeling well during it, so I think that's why it went wrong? And he wants to look out for him now that he's got the chance.

Not really. I guess I maybe should have asked who his descendent was...
